NEW YORK CITY, NEW YORK: Taylor Swift revealed that she and Jack Antonoff share the same love for 'Toy Story', saying the 30-year-old franchise helped shape their childhoods.

The singer, who contributed a song to 'Toy Story 5', said she was so excited about the opportunity that she immediately called one of her best friends, Jack Antonoff. Swift noted that they have often talked about the franchise and the impact it had on them growing up. "Talk about Toy Story all the time and how that really shaped our childhood," she added.

Swift shared on 'Good Morning America' how her lifelong love for 'Toy Story' connects with her friendship with Antonoff as the duo worked on "I Knew It, I Knew You" for the film. After getting a chance to see the film, Swift said she wasted no time reaching out to Antonoff with an idea she couldn't shake.

"I called Jack Antonoff, who is one of my best friends, and so I know that he is not only as big a Randy Newman fan as I am, but also a Toy Story kid," said Swift, referencing the 82-year-old composer behind the original 1995 film's iconic theme song, 'You've Got a Friend in Me.'

"I just really quickly blurted out like, ‘I got to see the new Toy Story. I have to tell you all about the film, but we need to write this song. We need to write this song." "I was so excited," she added. "It was such a frenetic form of excitement that I just blathered out, like, ‘We have to write this song.’"

Swift gave fans a glimpse into the whirlwind day that led to the creation of "I Knew It, I Knew You," the end-credits song. Sharing a video on X, the singer revealed that the project came together just hours after she watched the film for the first time.

Swift explained that seeing 'Toy Story 5' sparked an immediate wave of creativity, pushing her into what she described as "the songwriter zoomies." With a presentation for Disney CEO Bob Iger and Pixar executives scheduled later that evening, she raced against the clock to finish the track.

“Been kind of a hectic day,” Swift tells the camera, holding a set of headphones in front of a studio console. “At 11 am, went to go see ‘Toy Story 5,’ got so inspired, got the songwriter zoomies, went home, wrote the end credit song for ‘Toy Story 5.’ We have now produced it, and I’m doing vocals. It’s 6:57 pm."

"In two hours, Bob Iger and Tom from Pixar are coming to hear it. We have not recorded it yet. And I think this is one of the most fun days of my life.”
