WASHINGTON, DC: Rep Ilhan Omar mocked Vice President JD Vance after he claimed the Justice Department was investigating her for alleged immigration and fraud violations, bluntly saying, “That man is delusional,” while accusing Republicans of pushing the controversy purely for media attention.

Omar repeatedly dismissed the allegations as empty political theater. She also insisted she had not been informed of any DOJ investigation and said Republicans were inflating the claims to secure TV appearances.

Ilhan Omar ridicules JD Vance's claims

The clash erupted after Vance said during a White House press conference earlier this week that the DOJ was “looking at” allegations tied to Omar’s immigration history and financial disclosures. He claimed the administration’s anti-fraud task force was focusing resources on the matter and added, “If we think that there’s a crime, we’re going to prosecute that crime.”

Omar fired back hard when asked about the remarks. “That is not something that is happening. That man is delusional,” she said, according to a source.

She doubled down moments later, brushing off the idea that federal resources were even being used on the issue. “I don’t think they are using any resources,” Omar said. “They’re just saying stupid s---.”

Vance had revived long-running conservative allegations surrounding Omar’s past marriages, including claims that she married a man alleged to be her brother as part of an immigration fraud scheme. The background accusations have circulated for years.

Ilhan Omar accuses GOP of chasing interviews

Omar also mocked House Republicans over claims they were formally examining her finances after amended disclosure forms dramatically reduced her reported net worth.

Her original disclosure reportedly listed assets between $6 million and $30 million, but revised filings lowered the range to $18,004 to $95,000.

The discrepancy drew scrutiny from House Oversight Committee chairman James Comer, who publicly questioned Omar’s finances on “Hannity” and requested records connected to her husband Tim Mynett’s company earlier this year.

But Omar dismissed those efforts as publicity stunts.

“There’s nobody looking into anything,” she said. “They’re just saying those things to get interviews with you guys. There’s nothing really happening.”

She also targeted Comer directly after he publicly discussed her filings.

“Comer hasn’t investigated anything,” Omar said. “He hasn’t done anything. He hasn’t referred me to anybody. He’s just saying that so he can get TV interviews because you guys will only talk to them if they say something about me.”

Ilhan Omar says probe will find nothing

Despite the growing political noise around the allegations, Omar insisted there was no substance behind the claims and said any investigation would come up empty.

“No,” she replied when asked if she had been made aware of any investigation. “Because there’s nothing to investigate.”

She later added they were “absolutely not” going to find anything if a DOJ probe ever moved forward.

The controversy intensified after Vance told reporters that “something fishy is there” while discussing Omar’s past marriages and immigration history, remarks that quickly fueled fresh political backlash online and reignited conservative criticism surrounding the Minnesota Democrat.
