NEW YORK CITY, NEW YORK: In a recent conversation between Eric Trump and Laura Ingraham on 'The Ingraham Angle', Donald Trump's son took center stage in answering Ingraham's question, "Did Donald Trump sign off on everything?"

Reportedly, the executive vice president of the Trump Organization, Eric Trump criticized Michael Cohen after the attorney testified at the former president's hush money trial.

Eric Trump accused Cohen of being "giddy" in the courtroom as he answered questions under oath about a $130,000 payment to adult film star Stormy Daniels, aimed at concealing an alleged affair with Trump before the 2016 election.

In light of the same, Eric Trump exclaimed, "Laura, you can't make this up sham," expressing his frustration at what he sees as targeted attacks on his father.

"They will stop at nothing to take the man down. It doesn’t matter that people are getting shot in the face every single day. Crime has doubled in this city," Trump continued.

He added, "Murders have doubled in this city from last year to this year and yet they are going back to $130,000 payment, that a man made in his individual capacity that he booked on his personal ledger as a legal expense because it was paid to his long-time attorney? And he gets 34 felonies? Remember Al Capone got one felony, my father gets 34?"

The conversation then turned to the specifics of the legal allegations against Trump as Ingraham probed, "Why stop at 34? Cohen said he called your dad to make sure that he approved of what he was doing and that he would be reimbursed for everything, he required Donald Trump sign off basically everything, that’s what he repeated throughout the day."

Eric Trump responded with a sense of disbelief, highlighting the challenges his father faced while campaigning.

He said, "Interesting he said delayed and delayed and delayed. Michael Cohen kept making excuses he couldn’t get the payment and he finally comes up with emails that says 'I can’t get in touch with him. I can’t get in touch with the president'. Do you know why? Because he is in Iowa and is he campaigning in every swing state and he couldn’t get him."

When Ingraham asked, "But did he sign off on everything, your dad?" Eric Trump seemed to dodge that question.

The duo's conversation highlighted perceived political agenda behind the legal actions against Trump as Eric Trump argued, "They want to take my father down in New York."

He then added, "They want to do it civilly and criminally, they want to do it in Georgia and try to do it in Washington, DC. They go to the farthest-left areas of this country, they have radical prosecutors all with one thing in common, they’re all funded by Soros, every single one, and they have a damn mission to go after Donald Trump because he’s winning in every single poll.”

Eric Trump faces backlash after Laura Ingraham's questioning

In wake of these events, Eric Trump faced online trolling as Laura Ingraham grilled him about whether his father approved of making the hush money payments.

A particular viewer expressed, "No, Eric. That is EXACTLY what this is about. Did Daddy sign off on defrauding the American people in order to win an election?"

Following suit, another observer added, "Somebody is craving daddy’s love."

Additionally, a viewer pointed out, "Eric can’t answer a simple question, so the answer must be yes."

A follower contributed, "Every time I hear a fair question asked by a FOX News host to Trump or one of his surrogates, I believe less in the polls that say he's winning."

A comment underscored, "Ingraham knows he signed off on everything, but she is giving Word Salad an opportunity to spin it."

Another comment echoed, "Humm, I didn't hear a clear answer to the question."

An individual elaborated further, "Talk about not answering and deflecting to the max."
