NEW YORK CITY, NEW YORK: Eric Trump's comments on the size of the crowd at his father and presumptive GOP nominee Donald Trump's election rally at Wilwood, New Jersey on Saturday elicited ridicule from netizens on X.

The actual number of attendees has become the topic of a major debate, as the former President and his campaign team reportedly claimed that it exceeded 100,000.

According to Newsweek, Trump stated at the event, "You can't even see the back, there's so many people here." His spokesperson Steven Cheung told the publication that "over 100,000 people, patriots" had shown up to hear Trump speak.

However, the numbers were quickly questioned on social media, with some claiming people were leaving before Trump had finished speaking.

MAGA uses misleading image

GOP political operative Roger Stone posted an image of a massive crowd on a beach on Sunday and claimed it to be from the Trump rally at Wilwood the day before.

“Yeah, New Jersey is in play for @realDonaldTrump. Could Joe Biden draw a crowd like this?” he captioned the post.

However, the image turned out to be of a free 1994 concert by Rod Stewart in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, where an estimated 3.5 million to 4 million people attended, reported The Philadelphia Inquirer.

When Stone was called out on the social media platform, he hit back with, "Liberals have no sense of humor. 10,000 people at the New Jersey shore is still 10,000 people.” This did not go well with the Trump campaign, as they were set on promoting the 100,000 figure.

Eric Trump compares rally to Bruce Springsteen concert

In a recent interview on Fox News, Eric Trump claimed that his father's rally had managed to draw in a bigger crowd than a concert featuring Bruce Springsteen.

"When you see Wildwood on Saturday, where he has a 100,000 people show up... I mean, Bruce Springsteen can’t pull half of that amount," he told host Laura Ingraham.

Netizens call out Eric Trump's claim

People over X were quick to retort to Eric's statement, as a user wrote, "These people keep confessing that they're literally blind."

"Eric is an untrustworthy pathological liar, just like his criminal defendant daddy," shared another.

"Never in our lifetimes have we witnessed the Total End of Truth, Honor, Self Respect and Dignity. Thanks Trump," slammed a third.

"The boy can't count & what ever the true count - they mostly left early," jibed a fourth.

"These Trump family members lie about everything. That’s all they know," commented a fifth.
