NEW YORK CITY, NEW YORK: Eric Trump, son of former President Donald Trump, staunchly defended his father's stamina and resilience during a fiery interview with Maria Bartiromo on Fox News' 'Sunday Morning Futures', as reported by The Hill.

This came as the elder Trump remained embroiled in a high-stakes legal battle, appearing in a New York courtroom instead of hitting the campaign trail. The younger Trump's remarks sparked a wave of ridicule from internet users.

Eric Trump praises father Donald Trump's commitment

While acknowledging the former president's limited ability to campaign due to the ongoing trial, Eric painted a picture of relentless commitment. "He’s going all over the place. And his stamina, Maria, I have never seen anything like it in my life. I mean, I have just never seen it," Eric said.

He continued, "He will be in trial all day long … only to step out and go to events at bodegas and wake up and speak to union workers and go to Michigan and go to Pennsylvania and go to Ohio and go to all the other swing states."

Donald stands accused of 34 criminal charges related to falsifying business records, particularly concerning reimbursements to Michael Cohen, his former fixer, who allegedly paid Stormy Daniels, an adult film star, $130,000 to maintain silence regarding an alleged affair before the 2016 election.

Judge Juan Merchan scheduled Trump's criminal trial to begin on April 15, which would make it the first criminal prosecution of a former American president. Despite the legal challenges, Eric remained steadfast in his belief that his father possessed the qualities needed in the Oval Office. "He's a remarkable human being, and I love him to death, and I'm proud of him," he proclaimed.

"The whole world knows his backbone and his toughness, and it's exactly who we need behind the Resolute Desk in Washington, DC. It's the exact person we need in the Oval Office," Eric added.

Last week, Donald had to cancel a rally in North Carolina due to severe weather conditions, which would have been his first rally since the commencement of his hush money trial.

Approximately 30 minutes before his scheduled appearance, he dialed into the rally from his private jet and advised attendees to evacuate due to safety concerns posed by lightning. Donald is set to visit Michigan and Wisconsin on Wednesday, May 1, during a brief break from his ongoing trial.

Internet mocks Eric Trump

Eric's praise for his father Donald's stamina drew a ton of mockery from social media users. One X user remarked, "Threat of dis-inheritance is strong." Another user observed, "Every word @EricTrump says conveys only 'Daddy, please love me back.' But he never will, Eric. He never will."

A user expressed, "Poor .@EricTrump, still thinks he has a shot at his father's love. You know he calls you Fredo behind your back right? Daddy is a weak, pathetic, flatulent and sleepy loser."

Meanwhile, another user emphasized, "The whole world knows he doesn't even like you, let alone love you and yet....the public debasement continues." A user speculated, "Looks like someone didn't pass Lara her makeup brushes fast enough and got their forehead boinked on the bathroom counter edge..."

Another user wrote, "Oh Eric! They had to put *you* out to defend the sleepy one." One user bluntly stated, "eric, eric, eric no matter what you say you'll never get your fathers approval, deal with it."

Lastly, a user offered a straightforward assessment, "Eric...he's never going to love you, bro...come back to reality..."
