Her reaction came just hours after she announced voting for the first time in favor of Kamala Harris.

Alyssa Farah Griffin says she respects Donald Trump's win despite not wishing for it

Reflecting on the election outcome, Alyssa Farah Griffin, 31, now a vocal figure on the ABC talk show, revealed on Wednesday, November 6, that she is "grateful to live in a democracy."

Despite her personal preferences, Griffin congratulated Trump and said she respected the outcome.

She resigned from her White House position in December 2020, citing discomfort with the falsehoods surrounding the election.

Griffin was one of Trump's staff members who had urged him to disperse the crowd on January 6.

She has called the day "horrific" and rebuked Trump on several occasions even saying that he is a person with the "lowest moral character" that she has ever worked for.

"Not the results I personally wanted, but I’m grateful to live in a democracy & respect the outcome," Griffin wrote on X (formerly Twitter).

Adding her best wishes, she said, "My congratulations to the Trump-Vance team."

"A bright spot: I am hopeful that the admin will be aggressive in trying to free American hostages being held in captivity by Hamas," Griffin added. The comments section for the post was disabled, limiting public response.

Alyssa Farah Griffin on why she voted for Kamala Harris

On Tuesday’s episode of 'The View,' Alyssa Farah Griffin addressed her change in perspective to her fellow panelists.

"Four years ago today, I was in the White House with Donald Trump on election night," she shared.

"I believed he deserved to lose that night [in 2020], at that point," she said as the Daily Mail reported.

Reflecting on the subsequent years, she added, "I thought he hadn’t fought to win the election, but I thought the next four years would be the Republican party rebuilding and becoming something I could believe in and turning the page on Donald Trump," she explained.

However, disappointed in the party’s direction, Griffin shared her choice, saying, "So, this weekend, on Saturday, for the first time in my life, I voted for a Democrat. I voted for Kamala Harris."

Alyssa Farah Griffin's concerns over Donald Trump’s leadership

Alyssa Farah Griffin also clarified that her Democratic vote was "on loan" to Kamala Harris, describing her unease with Donald Trump’s approach.

"I’m worried about the direction [Trump] will take this country," she noted.

Drawing from her experience, she continued, "I take my own warning seriously… What I saw is very real."

Adding to her perspective, she stated, "I’m a Christian, I’m an American, and I’m a Republican - in that order. And I need somebody who shares my values."

She expressed her hopes for a leader who would "bring this country together."

While she doesn’t agree with all of Harris’ policies, she is hopeful for a brighter future, adding, "Today, it’s about a brighter future."

Griffin concluded by saying, “The best thing for the country and the future of the Republican party is that Donald Trump loses and that Kamala Harris is elected," receiving strong support from her co-hosts on 'The View'.

Alyssa Farah Griffin's change of stance after Donald Trump's victory

On Wednesday's episode of 'The View', Alyssa Farah Griffin described Donald Trump’s massive, victory as “beyond Reagan,” referring to former president Ronald Raegan.

“I didn’t expect it to be this resounding. And I think there are some lessons from it," she said.

“I think we forget about rural America. I think the working class feels left behind. They feel like the powerful, the elite, only care about themselves and their power," she further said.

“And he [Trump] spoke to them. We may not have liked his words, but they turned out for him," she added.

"I mean, the map was beyond Reagan what we saw last night. And I think we need to start listening more to the concerns of everyday Americans who feel like this system is failing.”
