NEW YORK CITY, NEW YORK: 'The View' hosts tried to decode why President Donald Trump declared himself a 'King' in a social media post as Joy Behar lashed out at Republican Senator Susan Collins.

Trump made the 'King' reference on social media after his officials moved to halt New York City's unpopular traffic congestion pricing system, according to Daily Mail.

'The View' co-hosts theorize Trump's 'King' post

President Trump took to his Truth Social account and posted, "Congestion pricing is dead. Manhattan, and all of New York, is saved. Long Live The King!"

Later, White House deputy chief of staff Taylor Budowich shared the message along with an AI-generated picture of Trump dressed as a king, the outlet reported.

During the 'The View' segment on Thursday, February 20, Ana Navarro led the panel to discuss Trump's motives behind the humorous post.

Navarro said, "Look, I think what he did with this - calling himself king - is he's trolling the opposition?"

She added that it is a smokescreen to avoid Democrats from paying attention to the several cuts to the federal government made by Elon Musk's DOGE, according to Daily Mail.

Navarro said, "He is distracting us, distracting the media so that we don't talk about the nuclear scientists who were accidentally fired."

She further added that Trump doesn't want to discuss survivors of the September 11 attacks losing benefits or the increased price of eggs.

Joy Behar asks Susan Collins to 'step up and do your job'

During the show, Behar demanded action from Susan Collins and said, "I would question the Republicans in Congress" as co-host Sara Haines named the Republican senator from Maine.

Behar added, "Step up and do your job and stop kissing his butt!"

In New York, Trump promised to take on the traffic program, which charges a $9 toll on many vehicles that enter Manhattan neighborhoods south of Central Park, per the outlet.

On Wednesday, February 19, Transportation Secretary Sean Duffy announced that the federal government had rescinded its approval. The program needs approval as it includes federal highways that lead into Manhattan.
