WASHINGTON, DC: Comedian and podcaster Theo Von confronted Vice President JD Vance after a clip of their podcast from last October resurfaced, where the VP asked for the Epstein list to be released.

This comes after President Donald Trump's administration showed disinterest in the Epstein files, a U-turn from their usual stance during the election campaign, and the Department of Justice announced that there was no client list.

JD Vance, for years, had been vocal about the Epstein-related conspiracies and urged lawmakers to release information about the convicted financier. However, he changed his stance after becoming the VP in 2025.

In October 2025, Vance appeared as a guest on Theo Von's 'This Past Weekend' podcast, months before he became the vice president under Donald Trump.

During their chat, the Vice President joked that "everybody in politics has a vice that's much worse than alcoholism," to which Von said, "Release the list!"

Vance then laughed and added, "Seriously, we need to release the Epstein list. That is an important thing."

On Wednesday, July 16, Von reposted the interview clip on X and captioned it, "Yeah, what changed?"

He made the social media post just a day after Trump brushed off MAGA's questions on the Epstein files as "pretty boring stuff."

Interestingly, Trump had promised to release the files as part of his 2024 presidential campaign, but following an accusation by Elon Musk that Trump himself is on the list, the POTUS attacked the probe into Epstein as "boring" and the work of "bad people".

Trump told reporters on Tuesday, "I don't understand why the Jeffrey Epstein case would be of interest to anybody. It's pretty boring stuff."

FBI denies Jeffrey Epstein had a 'top secret client list'

The DOJ and FBI dug into the Epstein case and concluded that there’s nothing to prove that he was blackmailing the rich and powerful, or that he even had a “client list”.

Moreover, they added that Epstein wasn't murdered and he took his own life.

Backing their claim, the Trump administration dropped surveillance footage from the night Epstein died in the Manhattan jail cell.

A detailed memo regarding the Epstein case stated that no one else from the Epstein case will be charged.

However, Epstein’s infamous right-hand woman, Ghislaine Maxwell, is serving 20 years for child sex trafficking and related crimes.

"The FBI enhanced the relevant footage by increasing its contrast, balancing the color, and improving its sharpness for greater clarity and viewability," the memo added.

Moreover, it also mentioned that there is "no incriminating client list," and "No credible evidence ... that Epstein blackmailed prominent individuals".

It also mentioned that there is zero "evidence that could predicate an investigation against uncharged third parties".

Internet slams JD Vance

Several internet users slammed JD Vance as Theo Von confronted him after a clip of their podcast from last October resurfaced, where the he asked for the Epstein list to be released, and changed his stance once he became the vice president.

A user wrote on X, "@JDVance @VP the people want to know what changed?" while one added, "Did JD Vance find out who was in the Epstein list?"

A person also stated, "Sold out," whereas one mentioned, "Well, well, Vance found a podcast to hide behind. Too bad the Epstein list can't hide from the truth. He'll delete this post faster than he deletes his principles."

A user also wrote, "He’s the biggest liar," while one commented, "JD Vance demanded the Epstein list — on camera, on record. Now he’s silent. What changed, JD? Or should we guess whose name you saw?"
