'There you go!' Jennifer Lopez snaps at ‘Today’ host Craig Melvin over Ben Affleck split question

NEW YORK CITY, NEW YORK: Jennifer Lopez is making it clear she’s done talking about her split from Ben Affleck.
The 56-year-old singer and actress called out 'Today' host Craig Melvin on Monday, October 6, after he brought up her recent divorce during a live interview about her upcoming film, 'Kiss of the Spider Woman'.
Melvin, 46, shifted the conversation from Lopez’s new musical to her personal life, saying, “In the middle of filming this elaborate, beautiful musical, your divorce was also finalized with Ben.”
Without missing a beat, Lopez shot back with a sharp but playful, “There you go! Look at this guy!”

Melvin quickly clarified that his question wasn’t meant to stir drama but rather to acknowledge Affleck’s involvement in the project. “But then I read that your ex is an executive producer on the film,” he explained.
Lopez then responded with grace, acknowledging her ex-husband’s role in helping the movie come to life. “If it wasn’t for Ben, the movie wouldn’t have gotten made,” she admitted. “And I will always give him that credit.”
Still, she made it clear she’s ready to move forward. “Yeah, things happen, you have to keep going,” she added, hinting that the split was in her past and she’s focused on what’s ahead.

Jennifer Lopez says ‘Kiss of the Spider Woman’ helped her heal
The "On the Floor" hitmaker didn’t dwell on her divorce but shared that her work on 'Kiss of the Spider Woman' helped her navigate the emotional period. “It’s funny, the movie is about escapism. It’s about how movies and art save us in the hardest times of our lives,” she said.
“Doing this project was such a dream come true for me that it really got me through a moment that was difficult in my personal life,” Lopez added.
Melvin then remarked, “And it sounds like it might have helped save you.” Lopez smiled and replied, “It did, it did!”

The pop icon also revealed that she took a short break after filming before diving back into work. “I took some time off after filming Kiss of the Spider Woman and now we’re back,” she shared. “I’m really excited for everybody to see this film. It’s a beautiful film about love.”
Lopez previously opened up about filming the musical amid her split during a September interview with CBS News' 'Sunday Morning'.
“It was a really tough time,” she said then. “Every moment on set, every moment I was doing this role, I was so happy, and then it was like, back home, it was not great.”
Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck’s relationship timeline
Lopez and Affleck rekindled their early-2000s romance in the spring of 2021 and tied the knot in 2022.
However, the marriage ended less than two years later, with Lopez filing for divorce in August 2024. The split was officially finalized in February 2025.
Despite their breakup, both have spoken respectfully about each other. In April 2025, Affleck praised his ex, saying, “Jennifer Lopez is spectacular, great to my kids, great ongoing relationship with them. She’s an enormously important, tremendous person of a lot of integrity who I adore and am grateful to.”
Affleck shares three children, Violet, 19, Seraphina, 16, and Samuel, 13, with ex-wife Jennifer Garner, while Lopez is mom to 17-year-old twins, Emme and Max, with ex-husband Marc Anthony.
