WASHINGTON, DC: Texas Representative Ronny Jackson, who previously served as White House physician, was recently slammed by the Biden administration and trolled on the Internet after he pushed for President Biden to take a cognitive test.

As per The Wrap, Jackson hit back by touting his medical experience, while online commenters continued poking fun at the comparison between Jackson and the bumbling Dr Nick from 'The Simpsons'.

Biden's White House likens Ronny Jackson to Dr Nick from 'The Simpsons'

The brouhaha started when Jackson urged the White House to have Biden undergo a cognitive assessment. In response, White House spokesman Andrew Bates mocked Jackson's medical credibility by stating, "Hi, Dr. Nick" and including a photo of the notoriously incompetent character from the popular animated sitcom 'The Simpsons'.

Dr Nick, full name Dr Nicholas Riviera, is known for his shady credentials, questionable prescriptions, laughable surgical skills, and affinity for cheap rum. Bates' snarky comeback was an attempt to paint Jackson as an equally dubious physician unqualified to assess presidential fitness.

Clearly stung by the Dr Nick insult, Jackson rebuked it during a Fox News interview. Jackson touted his lengthy White House tenure, saying, "I was at the White House, I was a White House physician for 14 years. I took care of President Bush for three years, I took care of President Obama for eight years and I took care of President Trump for three years."

Continuing his defensive rant, Jackson fumed, "For them to make that claim is ridiculous. It doesn’t surprise me that they spend all their time watching 'The Simpsons.'"

Ronny Jackson's professional track record has faced scrutiny in the past

While Jackson cites lengthy service as presidential physician, his own track record has faced scrutiny. He has battled allegations of professional misconduct, including accusations of drunken behavior and leadership failures.

A 2018 report claimed there were systemic problems in the White House Medical Unit during Jackson's tenure. The investigation found questionable record-keeping and loose distribution of prescription medicines.

According to CNN, Jackson withdrew his nomination for Veterans Affairs Secretary that year amid the allegations. But he called the accusations "completely false and fabricated."

The White House itself has not provided factual evidence to challenge Jackson's medical credentials or care provided during his White House tenure. But Jackson remains a controversial figure facing both staunch defenders and vocal detractors.
