NEW YORK CITY, NEW YORK: Hillary Clinton's highly anticipated feminist musical 'Suffs', which showcases the rise of the suffragette movement, encountered disappointing box office numbers despite receiving numerous Tony Award nominations and widespread critical praise, as reported by Breitbart.

As the box office figures painted a grim picture, Clinton faced harsh backlash online, with internet trolls mercilessly mocking the show's lackluster performance and taking personal jabs at the two-time presidential candidate.

The three-hour musical, featuring an all-female and gender non-binary cast, opened to much fanfare in March but quickly found trouble filling seats.

'Suffs' played to a disappointing 81 percent capacity in its third week and a mere 78 percent the week prior, according to numbers released by The Broadway League. These figures raised red flags, as new shows should be drawing large crowds during Broadway's peak spring season leading up to the Tony Awards.

To contextualize the situation, another new Broadway musical, 'Lempicka', recently announced its closure despite playing to 83 percent capacity last week. Notably, struggling shows at Broadway often resort to steep discounts to boost attendance figures, sometimes operating at a net loss.

Despite her high-profile involvement as a producer and vocal promotion of the show, Clinton's star power wasn't enough to salvage 'Suffs'. She was present at the musical's opening night and heavily promoted the musical through multiple TV interviews, including appearances on 'The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon' and CBS' 'Sunday Morning.'

Last month, Clinton even incorporated 'Suffs' into a Broadway-themed fundraiser for Joe Biden's 2024 re-election campaign, which was co-hosted by 'Hamilton' creator Lin-Manuel Miranda. The fundraiser included a performance by the cast of 'Suffs'.

Meena Harris, Vice President Kamala Harris' niece, is also listed among the producers of 'Suffs'. The financial landscape of Broadway could often be seen as unforgiving for new musicals lacking star power or Disney affiliation.

Internet mocks Hillary Clinton in wake of the underwhelming ticket sales for 'Suffs'

News of the underwhelming ticket sales for 'Suffs' prompted a wave of mocking comments and trolling directed at Clinton across social media platforms. One Facebook user quipped, "Hillary. They are just not into you." Another remarked, "She's probably mad she can't force people to watch it…"

A third user wrote, "Haha, 'Suffs' gets snuffed! Awesomeness!" while a fourth declared it a "train wreck!!" Others took aim at Clinton herself, with one user writing, "Anybody who would even consider watching any trash put out by this damn communist traitor has to be a born bubblebrain." Another bluntly stated, "America hates Hillary Clinton."

One particularly harsh comment read, "Should be called STIFFS and be about EVERYONE that died because of her. THAT WOULD BE A TONY WINNER!!!" Lastly, a user mocked the show's intended audience, writing, "There simply aren't enough 'old bags' like Hilary who want to see this spoof!"
