MANHATTAN, NEW YORK: The family of Michael Cohen, the former lawyer for Donald Trump, has become the latest victim of doxxing.

This follows the conviction of Trump on 34 felony counts related to a scheme aimed at illegally influencing the 2016 presidential election.

Michael Cohen's family doxxed

Cohen, who played a pivotal role in efforts to silence adult film actor Stormy Daniels during the election campaign, testified against Trump in the trial.

The former president was found guilty of falsifying business records in connection with the hush money payment made to Daniels to suppress her story of an alleged affair, which Trump has denied.

Cohen, who has served time in prison, stated during the trial, "What I was doing was at the direction of and for the benefit of Mr Trump."

The doxxing incident saw the personal information of Cohen's wife and children, including their addresses and phone numbers, being posted on a website known for targeting individuals associated with Trump's legal issues.

This site has previously been used to dox other figures connected to Trump's various legal battles.

In response to the doxxing, Cohen expressed his dismay, stating, "What sad times we are living through when people resort to this type of doxxing stupidity to redress their grievances." The incident has been condemned as an unacceptable breach of privacy and an attempt to intimidate those involved in the legal process.

Netizens get furious over Michael Cohen's family doxxing incident

A user commented on Yahoo, "Doxing" might be committing Harassment under federal anti-stalking laws, which is a felony if you cross state lines. It's 2024, and you can be found. Most violators, whether conservative or liberal, tend to be young, and risk their futures with a criminal record following them around."

A second added, "Good grief, this is inexcusable! I don't care what side of the political aisle you're on. To doxx someone's family, their spouses, children, parents, etc., simply because you don't like or agree with someone is absolutely reprehensible."

A third said, "It’s odd how nobody can name someone whose life benefited from loyalty to Trump, yet so many are still willing to play his games."

"Everything, ABSOLUTELY EVERYTHING Cohen said on the stand was corroborated with physical evidence. Tape recordings. Checks signed by Trump. Photos of Trump. Texts by Trump Bank records Corporate records Calendars, Etc." read a comment.

"This is all on Trump. If Trump would acknowledge the case and admit to his mistakes then this would not happen. This is ONLY happening because Trump has been whining about the trial and claiming it is a witch hunt. Which it clearly wasn’t. This is exactly what happened Jan 6. His cult feeds from his lies. Prison is not enough punishment for what he deserves," stated a user.

"Even John McCain defended Obama in a town hall meeting when one supporter said Obama was evil and not a good person. McCain gently corrected her saying that Obama was a good man and that their differences were only political and not personal. Do you hear Trump telling his supporters to behave and respect the rule of law? Heck no! Vote Blue," added another.
