WASHINGTON, DC: Questions are mounting over Mitch McConnell's health, and Rep Tim Burchett says the silence surrounding the veteran senator’s condition points to a "cover-up."

The 84-year-old former Senate GOP leader, who remains the third-oldest member of the Senate, was rushed to the hospital on June 14 after he was found unconscious at his Washington, DC home.

While his team refrains from disclosing many details about his health scare, an emergency personnel call first obtained by independent journalist Desiree Townsend suggests that McConnell may have suffered a heart attack.

The June 14 call detailed an emergency dispatch to McConnell's residence, where first responders were told of "CPR in progress" due to "cardiac arrest."

Tim Burchett compares Mitch McConnell’s condition with that of Joe Biden

Burchett was in conversation with Newsmax's Rob Finnerty on Saturday, July 11, when he compared the lack of transparency surrounding McConnell's condition to criticism Republicans leveled at the Biden administration over former President Joe Biden's health.

"It's just a cover-up, on top of a cover-up," Burchett said. "That's why nobody trusts what's going on in Washington. This whole thing is a farce."

“How can you be critical of Joe Biden wandering around the White House not knowing, looking for the soft-serve ice cream machine for four years when you can't be critical of this? So yeah, it's in our own party,” he added.

The Tennessee congressman, who has previously promoted conspiracy theories about UFOs and the origins of Covid-19, also alleged, without offering evidence, that the so-called "deep state" was involved in concealing details about McConnell's health.

"That proves my point about the deep state," he said. "Washington, DC, is just a large manmade sewer, and we rarely stir it. We just let it sit there and stink, and we don't drain it. And this is what happens time and time again. That's why we need term limits. We need term limits, but they're never gonna pass."

"You're never gonna get the right answer," Burchett said of McConnell's team. "I mean, you've got staffers. 'Cause look, staff still wants to be employed. They run these big offices. We need to term limit them."

Mitch McConnell's neighbors share new details about his health scare

This came after one woman who lives near McConnell's residence detailed the panic around the moment when the senator was taken away in an ambulance.

"When he came out, I actually wondered if he was dead," she told the Daily Mail. "He did not look good. He was not conscious. His eyes were closed, and he had oxygen [tubes] strapped to his nose."

The neighbor said she saw aides hurriedly moving in and out of the residence before emergency responders arrived. She also claimed that, despite the apparent urgency of the situation, there were few sirens at the scene.

"I knew by [his aides] running in and out that it was something serious," she shared.

The woman further recalled seeing aides who appeared visibly distressed as police officers carrying emergency medical equipment entered the property.
