LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Tom Cruise has a reputation of being extremely private about his personal life, but according to a source, the 'Top Gun: Maverick' star is about to reveal more than ever before.

Over the years, Cruise, 62, has experienced his share of well-documented highs and lows; his marriage and divorce from Holmes have drawn the most public attention which further revealed his Scientology beliefs and his relationship with his children.

According to reports, Cruise has been discussing a "change of strategy" and will be in the US for the majority of the upcoming year.

The 'Top Gun' actor is reportedly receptive to the idea of sharing some controlled phrases to clear the air, provided that the host is sympathetic and not trying to embarrass him like some have in the past.

"Tom hasn’t done a serious sit-down interview in years but with all the projects he has to promote and the fact that he’ll be spending most of the next year in the US, he’s talking about a change of strategy," said an insider.

The source added, "The idea of sharing some controlled soundbites to clear the air, as long as it’s done with a sympathetic host that isn’t out to humiliate him the way some have in the past, does appeal to him."

Cruise is reportedly ready to confront the situation head-on because he is tired of the untrue stories that are being spread about him. He knows that he must be "very transparent" in order to make any "real impact," the source said.

"He’s sick of all the false narrative out there about him and is ready to address things head on. He’s not the type to dwell on negativity but he will set the record straight in a classy way about a lot of things in his past, including his marriages," the source added.

Tom Cruise set to detail his beliefs in Scientology and his relationship with his kids

Tom Cruise's membership in Scientology and his relationship with his children — Suri, 18, his estranged daughter with Holmes, and Bella, 31, and Connor, 29, whom he adopted with his ex-wife Nicole Kidman — have also captivated fans.

After six years of marriage, Cruise and Holmes separated in 2012, and the actress was given sole custody of their daughter, Suri, and the mother-daughter eventually moved to New York.

His experience as a Scientologist, which he has been reticent to discuss in interviews with the media, is also believed to be something Cruise could discuss.

However, the 'Mission Impossible' star, who has been linked to the controversial faith since 1986, has made statements at several gatherings. He also claimed that it was a "privilege to be called a Scientologist" in a 2008 church-sponsored movie.

"Scientology is a very controversial subject, he’s not going to go deep, but he is still very proud of his beliefs and devoted to the Church and will likely touch on how it’s helped his life," the source said.

"You don’t see Tom as this poster boy for Scientology anymore, it got too intense when he tried to go that route," they added.

The insider added, "Almost every controversy involving the church would drag his name into the mud and that became very tiring and not all that productive for anyone. But he’s still very passionate about it and happy to speak about what it means to him."

Although Cruise is willing to discuss everything, the source noted that there is one subject he would prefer to keep private: his relationship with his daughter Suri.

Cruise has reportedly been separated from his youngest child for more than ten years, despite having a strong relationship with his older children, both of whom are Scientologists.

Suri has not been spotted with her Hollywood star father since she was a young girl, and there were rumors in June that she had abandoned his last name.

While starring in the theater production 'Head Over Heels', the teen took on her mother's middle name and was credited in the show as "Suri Noelle".

Cruise was married to Mimi Rogers from 1987 to 1990 and then to Nicole Kidman from 1990 to 2001 before he married Holmes.
