Transportation secretary’s daughter slams TSA screening, appeals to Trump and Noem to 'abolish' it
WASHINGTON, DC: Evita Duffy-Alfonso, the daughter of Transportation Secretary Sean Duffy, publicly called on President Donald Trump and Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem on Thursday, December 18, to abolish the Transportation Security Administration (TSA).
Her remarks followed what she described as a distressing encounter with airport security earlier in the day.
In a series of posts on X, Duffy-Alfonso, an independent journalist who has made frequent appearances on Fox News, said she was nearly delayed after refusing to go through a TSA body scanner because she was pregnant and concerned about radiation exposure.
I nearly missed my flight this morning after the TSA made me wait 15 minutes for a pat-down because I’m pregnant and didn’t feel like getting radiation exposure from their body scanner. The agents were passive-aggressive, rude, and tried to pressure me and another pregnant woman…

Evita Duffy-Alfonso slams invasive screening as ‘rude’
She said, “I nearly missed my flight this morning after the TSA made me wait 15 minutes for a pat-down because I’m pregnant and didn’t feel like getting radiation exposure from their body scanner.”
According to Duffy-Alfonso, the delay and the screening process left her scrambling to board her flight on time.
Duffy-Alfonso accused TSA agents of being dismissive and pressuring her and another pregnant traveler to use the scanner despite their objections.
“The agents were passive-aggressive, rude, and tried to pressure me and another pregnant woman into just walking through the scanner because it’s ‘safe,’” she wrote.
She said that after what she described as an “absurdly invasive” pat-down, she was finally allowed to proceed, but only just in time to catch her flight.
Duffy-Alfonso argued that the experience underscored broader concerns about how the agency treats passengers, particularly those with medical or personal considerations.
“All this for an unconstitutional agency that isn’t even good at its job,” she added.
Evita Duffy-Alfonso tags Trump and Kristi Noem
When another user on X asked why she had not raised the issue directly with her father, Duffy-Alfonso responded by noting that the TSA falls under the Department of Homeland Security, not the Department of Transportation.
She went on to suggest that if her father were in charge of the agency, he would take aggressive steps to curtail its authority.
“If my father were in charge of TSA, he’d radically limit it and lobby Congress to abolish it,” she wrote.
In a separate post tagging both President Trump and Kristi Noem, Duffy-Alfonso laid out a constitutional argument for dismantling the agency, writing, “TSA = unreasonable, warrantless searches of passengers and their property. That means it violates the Fourth Amendment and is therefore unconstitutional. Pls abolish.”
Neither the White House nor the Department of Homeland Security immediately responded to her comments.
