Travis Barker undergoes surgery for hand numbness with wife Kourtney Kardashian by his side
LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Travis Barker has revealed that he underwent surgery after experiencing numbness in his “arm, hand, and fingers.”
The musician shared the news via Instagram Stories as he posted a photo from the hospital, which also showed his wife, Kourtney Kardashian, by his side.
Travis Barker reveals nerve surgery
Barker, 50, wrote, “I had surgery yesterday. My arm, hand, and fingers have been numb since a show I played last month. I did a nerve test Monday after my show and it turns out I needed a cubital tunnel release to fix the nerve.”
“I wanted to get ahead of it and get it over with so that I can keep playing the way I play for a long, long time. Should be good in a few weeks,” he added.
The drummer for rock band Blink-182 also quipped in the caption that he’s not sure “why my wife looks so happy about this.”
Travis Barker recalls 2023 finger injury
Barker’s recent surgery came three years after he severely injured his ring finger. At the time, he shared on X, “I was playing the drums at rehearsals yesterday and I smashed my finger so hard I dislocated it and tore the ligaments.”

In late February 2023, he posted a video on Instagram that showed a medical expert trying to fix his finger. Barker also shared a close-up of his injured finger.
In the caption, the father-of-three wrote, “Surgery tomorrow.”
Travis Barker explains why finger surgery was needed
In March of that year, Barker shared two photos from a hospital bed as he wrote, “Thank you for all the love and prayers and understanding this week as I went into surgery. It was a hard decision to make but ultimately I couldn’t continue to play the drums without it.”
“It was inevitable that my finger would have dislocated again without fixing the torn ligament surgically,” he explained before expressing gratitude toward his doctor.
Barker added, “So grateful for Dr Shin and that my surgery was a success so that I can keep doing what I love and see you guys on tour soon.”
Travis Barker battled life-threatening pancreatitis
However, finger injuries have not been the songwriter’s only health issue in the last few years.
In 2022, Barker was hospitalized with “life-threatening” pancreatitis. He revealed at the time that he “went in for an endoscopy Monday feeling great. But after dinner, I developed excruciating pain and have been hospitalized ever since.”
“During the endoscopy, I had a very small polyp removed right in a very sensitive area, usually handled by specialists, which unfortunately damaged a critical pancreatic drainage tube. This resulted in severe life-threatening pancreatitis. I am so very very grateful that with intensive treatment, I am currently much better," Barker added at the time.
