Travis Kelce's dad Ed Kelce makes rare comment on Taylor Swift wedding: 'I'm super excited'

SEA ISLE CITY, NEW JERSEY: Travis Kelce’s father, Ed Kelce, is excited to welcome Taylor Swift as his daughter-in-law amid speculation that the pop icon and the football star will tie the knot over the July 4 weekend.

The senior Kelce, father of Travis and Jason, made the comment during the Team 62 at the Ocean Drive fundraiser in Sea Isle City on Wednesday, June 24.

Ed Kelce calls Taylor Swift 'sweetheart'

A reporter asked Ed, “How excited are you for an upcoming wedding and gaining a daughter-in-law?”

To which he replied, “I am super excited. She is a sweetheart. That is truly the girl next door.”

Papa Kelce also mentioned his other daughter-in-law, Kylie Kelce, Jason's wife, adding that Swift is “just like Kylie.” Kylie and Jason have been married since 2018 and are the parents of four daughters, Wyatt Elizabeth, Elliotte Ray, Bennett Llewellyn, and Finnley "Finn" Anne.

Ed Kelce praises Travis and Jason

During the fundraiser, Ed, who divorced Travis and Jason's mother, Donna, years ago after nearly two decades of marriage, also spoke proudly about both of his sons.

“They have made a point of giving back to the community. Certainly Jason here and you know in Philly and Travis in Kansas City They do a lot and I should do a yeah, they know that that's that's not,” he stated.

The 74-year-old further added, “I don't think that's a charge so much as it is a responsibility to accept along with the paycheck, you know what I'm saying?”

Ed Kelce introduces apparent girlfriend

This came days after Ed appeared to introduce his new girlfriend to the public amid buzz surrounding his son's wedding.

He posted a photo of a woman on his Instagram account and wrote, “With the dynamic and gorgeous Doree Hepner at 118 North, listening to York Street Hustle: their Summer Soul(stice) show.”

Ed Kelce's former girlfriend died in 2025

Before Hepner, Ed was reportedly romantically involved with Maureen Maguire, who died in August 2025 at the age of 74.

An obituary for her read, “Maureen found joy in life’s simple pleasures. She also grew an unexpected love for football later in life, sharing many laughs and adventures with her beloved friend Ed Kelce and her loyal dog Butch.”

“Together, they traveled often and attended football games and concerts, and embraced every opportunity to enjoy life to the fullest,” it added.
