WASHINGTON, DC: President Donald Trump launched an insult-laden attack on Representatives Ilhan Omar (D-Minn) and Rashida Tlaib (D-Mich) on Wednesday, February 25, following their vocal opposition during the State of the Union.

In a post on Truth Social, the President claimed the two Democrats "look like they should be institutionalized" and called them "Crooked and Corrupt Politicians."

Trump’s comments came in response to lawmakers reportedly shouting at him during his address.

"We should send them back from where they came — as fast as possible," the President wrote, echoing language he previously used to criticize progressive congresswomen during his first term.

Tensions boil over during annual address

The confrontation started during the President's Tuesday address, when Omar and Tlaib openly objected to his remarks about Minnesota, specifically challenging his description of the state's Somali community as "pirates."

Additionally, they accused the President of enabling the deaths of United States citizens through his administration's intensified immigration enforcement in Minnesota.

Trump retorted that such behavior "can only damage the United States of America" and that the lawmakers "can do nothing to help it."

Attacks expand to include Hollywood critics

In calling for the lawmakers to "get on a boat," the President expanded his critiques to include actor Robert De Niro. Trump described De Niro as "another sick and demented person" with an "extremely Low IQ" and claimed the actor "has absolutely no idea what he is doing or saying."

The President further compared De Niro to Rosie O’Donnell, whose citizenship he has previously threatened. Trump claimed that De Niro "break down in tears" during the previous night's events, which he characterized as being "sicker" than O'Donnell's behavior.

Record of controversial citizenship rhetoric

This latest demand that naturalized or natural-born citizens "go back" echoes past controversies.

While Tlaib is a natural-born US citizen and Omar has been a citizen since 2000, Trump has repeatedly suggested they return to "help fix the totally broken and crime infested places from which they came."

The President concluded his remarks by asserting that America is "Bigger, Better, Richer, and Stronger than ever before."

He claimed that this national progress is "driving them absolutely crazy" as he looks ahead to the remainder of his second term.
