PHILADELPHIA, PENNSYLVANIA: Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump strongly confronted Vice President Kamala Harris during a heated discussion on Tuesday, September 10, when she attempted to interrupt him.

"Wait a minute, I'm talking now, if you don't mind, please," Trump retorted sharply, a moment that echoed a similar incident from 2020 when Harris had reprimanded then-Vice President Mike Pence for interrupting her.

Donald Trump continued, asking sarcastically, "Does that sound familiar?" His remark referenced Kamala Harris' well-known response to Pence’s interruptions during the 2020 vice presidential debate, where she said, "I'm speaking," as per the New York Post

During a campaign rally in Detroit last month, Harris used the same words to silence hecklers once again. While discussing the controversial Project 2025 conservative policy project with supporters, the Democratic presidential nominee addressed anti-Israel protesters who were shouting phrases such as, "We won't vote for genocide."

Harris paused briefly and asked the crowd whether they would prefer to vote for her opponent. “You know what, if you want Donald Trump to win, then say that. Otherwise, I’m speaking,” she declared to a sea of cheering supporters.

Donald Trump focuses on immigration and border policies during debate

The debate began with an "awkward handshake" as the two candidates took the stage, setting the tone for a heated evening. Shortly after, Donald Trump made immigration and border security the main focus of his criticism.

Trump shifted his focus from the economy to immigration in answer to a question, saying, "Millions of people are pouring into our country." He depicted a bleak picture of American cities being overrun by immigration, citing Aurora, Colorado, and Springfield, Ohio in particular. "You see what's happening with towns throughout the United States," Trump stated.

He added, "They're taking over the towns. They're taking over buildings. They're going in violently. These are the people that she and Biden led into our country, and they're destroying our country. They're dangerous. They're at the highest level of criminality. And we have to get them out."

The former president also criticized Harris' economic management, accusing her of failing to develop an effective strategy to curb rising inflation. The debate highlighted the stark differences in the candidates' visions for the future of the nation, with Trump persistently questioning Harris' ability to lead and perform.

Donald Trump claims it was his 'best debate ever'

The debate, moderated by ABC News' David Muir and Linsey Davis, began with the two questioning Donald Trump. Shortly after the debate concluded, Trump told Fox News that he considered it his "best debate ever," particularly because he felt it was a "three-on-one" situation.

The moderators first asked Vice President Harris if Americans "are better off than they were four years ago" while discussing the economy.

Instead of answering directly, Harris inaccurately claimed that Trump planned to impose a "sales tax" on consumer items. Trump countered this assertion, calling it an "incorrect statement."

Moderators interjected, arguing that Trump's proposal to impose tariffs on other nations would lead to higher prices for consumers.

In response, Trump highlighted the record-breaking economy during his administration and criticized the Biden-Harris era for high inflation, calling it the "worst in our nation's history."

Donald Trump lashes out at Kamala Harris' lack of clear policies

Donald Trump continued to criticize Kamala Harris for her lack of specific policies, pointing to her past record and stating that "everything she believed three and four years ago is out the window."

"She’s adopting my philosophy now," he said, adding, "In fact, I was going to send her a MAGA hat."

According to Trump, Harris is a "Marxist," and if elected, her policies will "change" and "it will be the end of our country."

Trump accused Harris of lacking an economic strategy, especially for tackling rising inflation. "She copied Biden's plan. And it’s just like four sentences, like 'Run, Spot, Run,' with lines like 'Oh, we’ll try to lower taxes,'" Trump said. "She doesn’t have a plan."

Harris responded by saying Trump "has no plan for you" and instead promised Americans an "opportunity economy."
