Trump demands Roger Clemens’ induction into Baseball Hall of Fame: ‘354 wins, put him in now’

WASHINGTON, DC: President Donald Trump is calling for baseball legend Roger Clemens to be inducted into the Baseball Hall of Fame, using his Truth Social account to denounce the steroid allegations that have long kept the seven-time Cy Young Award winner out of Cooperstown.
Trump, who played golf with Clemens and his son Kacy over the weekend, said the 354-game winner should be honored “now, not after he’s gone,” comparing Clemens’ case to that of Pete Rose.

Trump calls Roger Clemens one of the 'greatest pitchers of all time'
“I played golf yesterday with the great Roger Clemens and his son, Kacy. Roger Clemens was easily one of the few greatest pitchers of all time, winning 354 games, the Cy Young Award seven times (a record, by a lot!), and played in six World Series, winning two!” Donald Trump wrote.
“He was second to Nolan Ryan in most strikeouts, and he should be in the Baseball Hall of Fame, NOW! People think he took drugs, but nothing was proven. He never tested positive, and Roger, from the very beginning, totally denies it. He was just as great before those erroneous charges were leveled at him,” the president added.

Trump vowed not to let Clemens be snubbed until death as Rose was. “354 Wins — Put him in NOW. He and his great family should not be forced to endure this ‘stupidity’ any longer!” he wrote.

Steroid allegations linger despite Roger Clemens' acquittal
Roger Clemens was named in the 2007 Mitchell Report on performance-enhancing drugs and later indicted on six felony counts of perjury, false statements, and obstruction of Congress. He was acquitted in 2012 and has consistently denied using steroids.
Federal investigators connected to the BALCO case, including Matt Parrella and Jeff Novitzky, have claimed evidence of Clemens’ drug use is strong, citing DNA-tied syringes, but Trump dismissed those claims as “rumors with no proof.”

Clemens earned 37.6% of the vote in his first Hall of Fame ballot in 2013 and peaked at 65.2% in 2022, short of the 75% threshold. His eligibility has since expired, leaving his case to the Today’s Game Committee.
Over a 24-year career, Clemens won two World Series titles, was selected to 11 All-Star Games, and struck out 4,672 batters — second only to Nolan Ryan. Trump says these achievements alone make him a lock for Cooperstown.
