WASHINGTON, DC: President Donald Trump faced flak and was accused of "hiding on the golf course" as the devastating Texas flood death toll keeps rising after it struck Kerr County on July 4.

The latest reports claim that at least 81 people have been confirmed dead and another 41 are missing following the "catastrophic" flash floods in central Texas.

Internet slams Trump for golfing as devastating Texas floods death toll keeps rising

Several internet users slammed Donald Trump following the devastating Texas floods and some even accused him of "hiding on golf course".

A user wrote on X, "Trump is partially responsible for what happened due to his cuts to related government agencies. Even Texas officials are saying it. And instead of visiting Texas, he’s off playing golf. That’s how much he cares. 'The party' is not a handful of jerks on Twitter," while one added, "Trump is on his golf course today, playing thru tears for all the lives lost. He will occasional post some self-aggrandizing propaganda videos of him dancing like a lunatic. Thx MAGA."

A person also stated, "20 Children in the United States got washed away by a horrific flash flood in Texas today. And what did Donald Trump do? Of course, he went to play Golf," whereas one mentioned, "Trump went golfing today as flooding hit Texas. 20 children are now missing from a girls camp."

A user also wrote, "Trump’s callous decision to hit the golf course while 20 children drown in Texas floodwaters exposes his utter disregard for American lives, proving once again he’s unfit to lead," while one commented, "While 79 people have died in the Texas floods, President Trump is doing his best. He just won another championship at his golf club in Bedminster."

Trump plans to visit Texas later this week

President Trump announced on Sunday, July 6, that he has plans to visit Texas’ Hill Country, where devastating floods have killed more than 80 people, later this week.

The POTUS told reporters, "This is a hundred-year catastrophe and it’s just so horrible to watch."

Trump was asked if he plans to head to the Lone Star State to survey the damage and the POTUS said he’ll “probably” go on Friday, July 11.

"I would’ve done it today but we just would’ve been in their way," he added.

Moreover, Trump denied that cuts made by the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE), formerly run by tech-billionaire Elon Musk, to the National Weather Service had any effect on the forecasting and response to the disastrous floods.

He told a reporter, "They didn’t. That water situation, that all is and that was really the Biden setup. That was not our setup."

Surprisingly, Trump wouldn’t point the finger at his predecessor.

"I wouldn’t blame Biden for it either," he said.
