Trump gushes over 'very nice' Laura Loomer when asked about their relationship amid MAGA infighting

'I think she's very nice. I mean, I know she's known as a radical right [activist]. But I think Laura Loomer is a very nice person,' said Donald Trump

WASHINGTON, DC: President Donald Trump gushed over Laura Loomer and called her a "very nice person" when a reporter asked what his relationship with her was like.

Trump made the remarks during a press meet, just before flying back to Washington, DC, on the evening of Sunday, August 3, after being asked about the far-right political activist’s influence on the White House.

Donald Trump praises Laura Loomer despite her controversial political tactics

During a press meet on August 3, a reporter asked Donald Trump, "Mr President, what is your relationship with Laura Loomer? What kind of influence does she have in the White House?"

The POTUS replied, "I think she's very nice. I mean, I know she's known as a radical right [activist]. But I think Laura Loomer is a very nice person."

He further added, "I've known her for a long time, and, you know, personally, I think she's a patriot, and she gets excited because of the fact that she's a patriot and she doesn't like things going on that she thinks are bad for the country. I like her, OK?"

Interestingly, Loomer made headlines recently for claiming she set up a "tip line" for government staffers eager to report their "disloyal" colleagues in the hopes of getting them fired.

Loomer announced the tip line during an interview with Politico, where she bashed "a serious vetting crisis" in the federal government.

She said, "I’m happy to take people’s tips about disloyal appointees, disloyal staffers and Biden holdovers, and I guess you could say that my tip line has come to serve as a form of therapy for Trump administration officials who want to expose their colleagues who should not be in the positions that they’re in."

Moreover, feuds within the MAGA community have come to a head recently, with Loomer right at the center of it.

She launched a blistering public attack on Tucker Carlson and accused him of being a "terrible person" and a "fraud" in a fiery social media post.

She made the comments following an article in The Independent, where Carlson was quoted comparing Loomer to "a child wielding a loaded firearm called Twitter" as he blamed "the adults who take her seriously" for enabling her.

Internet divided as Donald Trump gushes over Laura Loomer

People on the internet remained divided, sharing mixed reactions after Donald Trump gushed over Laura Loomer and called her a "very nice person" when asked about his relationship with her.

A user wrote on X, "She’s bold, loyal, and unafraid. When Trump calls you a patriot, that means something real," while one added, "I would call that an accurate assessment."

A person also stated, "She is a patriot! True patriots love her," whereas another mentioned, "We like her too! Trump is right again, just like @LauraLoomer."

Meanwhile, a user wrote, "She’s probably hurt that he didn’t mention her lips," and one commented, "This guy took a 9/11 conspiracist like Loomey to a 9/11 remembrance ceremony. I hear she’s telling him who to fire now, too."

Someone else mentioned, "Trump defending Loomer like she’s just 'excited' is wild. Rabid nationalism isn’t quirky, it’s dangerous, and he knows it," while another added, "Trump says Laura Loomer’s a patriot. If unhinged conspiracy theorists are shaping White House advice, no wonder the country’s a mess. At this point, 'America First' just means common sense last."
