WASHINGTON, DC: The White House joined the public discussion surrounding Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce's wedding on Friday, July 3, by sharing an edited image of the couple's wedding display at New York's Madison Square Garden.

The official White House account on X posted a version of the venue's signage that had been altered to read, "Trump is your president," alongside the caption, "it's happened!!!" The post quickly generated widespread reactions across social media as Swift and Kelce's wedding dominated public attention.

White House shares edited Madison Square Garden display

The official White House X account published an image showing the exterior display at Madison Square Garden with the original wedding message replaced by the words, "Trump is your president." The post was accompanied by the caption, "It's happened!!!"

The edited image appeared to reference the celebration surrounding Taylor Swift and Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce, who reportedly held their wedding ceremony at Madison Square Garden before a guest list that included celebrities, athletes and entertainment figures.

The venue itself displayed a large illuminated message reading "JUST&T MARRIED," referencing the couple's first names.

According to a statement provided to NBC News by representatives for the couple, actor and comedian Adam Sandler officiated the ceremony. The statement also said Swift did not have a traditional bridal party.  Her brother, Austin Swift, served as her "Man of Honor," while Kelce's brother, former NFL player Jason Kelce, was his best man.

The couple wore Christian Dior Haute Couture designed by Jonathan Anderson, while custom Christian Louboutin shoes and Cartier jewelry completed Swift's bridal attire, according to the statement.

The White House's edited image circulated widely online shortly after it was posted, drawing reactions from supporters, critics and fans following the celebrity wedding.

White House's post follows long-running political tensions between Trump and Taylor Swift

The White House's social media post came against the backdrop of a well-documented history of public exchanges between President Donald Trump and Taylor Swift over recent election cycles.

Swift became politically active during the 2018 midterm elections when she endorsed Democratic candidates in Tennessee. She later endorsed former Vice President Kamala Harris during the 2024 presidential campaign after encouraging voter participation in previous elections.

Trump has publicly criticized Swift on multiple occasions over the years. Following her endorsement of Harris, he wrote on social media, "I hate Taylor Swift!" He later renewed his criticism while discussing actress Sydney Sweeney, writing that Swift had become "no longer hot."
