WASHINGTON, DC: President Donald Trump ended up raising concerns about his own mental health after making an embarrassing blunder while discussing former President Joe Biden's prostate cancer.

After presenting a Medal of Honor to the family of a fallen police officer, the 78-year-old president was questioned by reporters about his response to Biden's "aggressive" prostate cancer on Monday, May 19.

"I think it's very sad, actually," replied Trump, before casting doubt on the timing of Biden’s advanced prostate cancer diagnosis.

Trump thinks Joe Biden has ‘stage 9’ cancer

While addressing Biden’s cancer, Donald Trump went on the attack in a tone that was strikingly different from the well wishes he issued when the news of the former president's diagnosis first surfaced.

The business mogul stoked speculation over a potential cover-up as he stated he was "surprised" the public was not told about his predecessor's condition earlier.

"I'm surprised that it wasn't notified a long time ago. Because to get to stage 9, it's a long time,” the president said, mislabeling Biden’s cancer diagnosis.

According to a statement released by Biden's post-presidential office on May 18, the 82-year-old former president has stage 4 prostate cancer with a Gleason score of 9, which indicates how quickly the cancer could spread.

Stage 4 is the highest possible classification for cancer. The Cleveland Clinic's genitourinary medical oncologist, Dr Christopher Wee, told PEOPLE that Biden's cancer is at stage 4 "because it has spread outside of the prostate."

In contrast, Gleason scores go from 6 to 10 and are exclusive to prostate cancer.

"The higher the number, the more abnormal the cells are. And so when something is a Gleason 9 or a Gleason 10… generally speaking, people think that reflects a more aggressive behavior of the cancer,” the doctor added.

Trump boasts about acing cognitive test

In his press conference, Donald Trump reiterated that he thought Biden's prostate cancer diagnosis was "sad" before turning attention to the result of his own cognitive test.

"I just had my physical. You saw that. You saw the results of that particular test. I think that test is standard to pretty much anybody getting a good physical,” the president said.

"We had the doctors at the White House and over at Walter Reed, which is a fantastic hospital. I did a very complete physical, including cognitive tests. I’m proud to announce I aced it. I got them all right. Are you proud of me? Your husband would be proud of me for getting them all right," he bragged.

The president then asserted that people would "be after" him if he "didn't get them all right" on his test, noting, "It would not be a good situation."

"I think, frankly, anyone running for president should take a cognitive test. They say it’s unconstitutional, but I would say in that particular case, having a cognitive test wouldn’t be so bad," Trump suggested.

Trump faces mockery over mislabeling Biden’s cancer

Internet users mocked Donald Trump for mislabeling Biden’s cancer diagnosis as ‘stage 9’, with many user even pointing finger at dementia.

“Trump immediately pivots to himself, babbling about his impressive cognitive ability which he literally just proved he doesn’t have. This is basic dementia,” podcast host Jim Stewartson raged on X.

“This is just another demonstration of the fact that while Stage 9 cancer is not a thing, Stage 5 Alzheimer's certainly is!” a second user noted.

“Shocked he doesnt wear a sticker after he's been to the dentist,” the third user mocked, while the fourth one wrote, “Make common sense great again please! GLEASON STAGE 9 he never said stage 9 cancer.”

"That’s it, MAGA Americans including Trump are officially the dumbest people in the world," one more user blasted.

"Trump demonstrates his ignorance, stupidity, and failing cognitive capabilities EVERY. DAMN. DAY," another user wrote.
