WILKES-BARRE, PENNSYLVANIA: Former president and current GOP nominee Donald Trump asked the attendees of his Pennsylvania rally on Saturday, August 17, to justify the need for an election in 2024.

He claimed to be polling far ahead of his political rival. He also pointed out that incumbent Joe Biden had dropped out of the presidential race and Vice President Kamala Harris became the Democratic nominee despite not winning any primary votes.

With Harris at the top of the Democratic ticket, Trump has reportedly lost his clear lead in the polls. According to the ABC News/Washington Post/Ipsos poll published on Saturday, Harris and her running mate Tim Walz have been leading Trump and JD Vance by 50%-45% among all adults, 49%-45% among those now registered to vote, and 51%-45% among likely voters.

What did Donald Trump say at Pennsylvania rally?

"Does anyone here feel richer under Kamala Harris and Crooked Joe? Is anything less expensive under Kamala Harris or Crooked Joe? No. It’s been it’s been devastating," Donald Trump said while launching a fiery attack against his political rivals at his campaign rally.

"Inflation, inflation has been devastating under this group of people that have no idea what the hell they’re doing. Are you better off with Kamala and Biden than you were under President Donald J Trump? I don’t think so."

He went on to share his frustration with the candidate switch pulled off by the Democrats, stating, "You know, they do polls on this stuff, and I’m at like 93%. I said, so why are we having an election? They didn’t have an election. Why are we having an election?"

"How would you like to be Biden? He’s working, he’s spending money, he’s trying. They wanted to have a debate. That’s the thing that started it all. You know, if I didn’t debate him, he’d still be running right now," he quipped, adding, "But I believe she (Harris) will be easier to beat than him because she’s a truly radical left lunatic."
