Trump receives Covid booster and flu shot during his semiannual health check-up

WASHINGTON, DC: President Donald Trump received a Covid-19 vaccine and flu shot during his semiannual visit to the Walter Reed National Military Medical Center, according to his physician Sean P Barbabella's memo.
Barbabella’s memo, shared by the White House on Saturday, October 11, stated that Trump received preventive health screenings and immunizations, which included the "annual influenza and updated COVID-19 booster vaccinations" in preparation for his upcoming international travel.
The president is scheduled to leave for the Middle East on Sunday after helping secure a ceasefire deal between Israel and Hamas this week.
"President Donald J. Trump continues to demonstrate excellent overall health."

Sean P Barbabella says Trump remains in exceptional health
The president’s physician and US Navy Captain Sean P Barbabella further mentioned in the memo that the visit was part of the president's "ongoing health maintenance plan."
This included "advanced imaging, laboratory testing, and preventive health assessments conducted by a multidisciplinary team of specialists."

It is worth noting that, under the current administration, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) no longer provides a general recommendation for Covid-19 vaccinations. Instead, individuals who wish to be vaccinated must engage in "shared clinical decision-making," meaning they need to discuss it with healthcare providers like physicians, nurses, and pharmacists.
As per an October 6 press release from the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS), this means, "The clinical decision to vaccinate should be based on patient characteristics that unlike age are difficult to incorporate in recommendations."

Trump’s physician also noted that he still demonstrated excellent overall health.
Barbabella wrote that "President Trump continues to demonstrate excellent overall health. His cardiac age—a validated measure of cardiovascular vitality via ECG—was found to be approximately 14 years younger than his chronological age."
“President Donald J Trump remains in exceptional health, exhibiting strong cardiovascular, pulmonary, neurological, and physical performance,” the doctor concluded in the summary.
Trump described Walter Reed trip as a 'semiannual' exam
The president's Friday trip to Walter Reed sparked concern among many.
It was considered unusual because it was his second visit to the medical center this year, despite his physician having described his physical examination in April as the annual one.
To clarify the situation, the president personally described the Friday trip as a "semiannual" exam to reporters. This framing distinguished the unexpected, follow-up nature of the visit from his previously designated yearly check-up.
Speculation over Trump’s health has persisted since his return to the presidency.

Observers have pointed out a noticeable discoloration on his right hand, and some have also seemingly noticed a persistent facial droop during lengthy public appearances.
Trump was diagnosed with chronic venous insufficiency in July.
When pressed on the president’s treatment plan and whether his physician would be available to answer questions, White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt stated, “I don't want to make that commitment on behalf of the physician."

She further clarified, "But it's certainly something we can look into and explore out of the effort of transparency, because unlike the previous White House, there is nothing to hide.”
However, the latest health memo has no update on the president's chronic venous insufficiency condition specifically.
