Trump says he 'doesn't like' seeing Bill Clinton deposed in House Oversight Epstein probe
WASHINGTON, DC: President Donald Trump said on Friday, February 27, that he does not like seeing former President Bill Clinton deposed by the Republican-led House Oversight Committee in its investigation of Jeffrey Epstein.
Trump made the remarks to reporters before departing the White House for trips to Texas and Florida.
Clinton participated in a recorded, transcribed session with lawmakers in Chappaqua, New York, on Friday, February 27, in connection with the committee’s ongoing review of individuals previously associated with Epstein.
In a prepared opening statement, Clinton affirmed that he had no knowledge of Epstein’s criminal activities and did not witness misconduct during their limited interactions.
Trump says Lawmakers “went after me” more aggressively
When asked about Clinton’s deposition, Trump said he was not pleased to see his predecessor questioned under oath.
"I don’t like seeing him deposed, but you know, they certainly went after me, a lot more than that,” Trump said. “I like him, and I don’t like seeing him deposed.”

The president did not indicate concern that deposing a former president would set a precedent affecting him or his family and stressed he wasn't involved in the broader investigation.
“I don’t know anything about the Epstein files, you know, I’ve been fully exonerated,” Trump said.
Trump has repeatedly denied any wrongdoing related to Epstein. Authorities have not accused him of misconduct in connection with Epstein’s crimes.
Clinton’s testimony comes after the committee’s recent deposition of former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, with leaders confirming that transcripts and video will be released publicly.
Meanwhile Hillary Clinton calls for Trump deposition
Hillary Clinton called on Trump to testify about his connections to Jeffrey Epstein during her appearance before the Republican-led House Oversight Committee on Thursday, February 26.
In her opening statement, which she shared on X, Clinton said she had no knowledge of Epstein’s crimes, had never met him, and had never visited his island or flown on his plane.
At the same time, she accused Republican members of the panel of using the hearings to shield the current administration.“You have compelled me to testify, fully aware I have no knowledge that would assist in your investigation, in order to distract attention from President Trump’s actions and to cover them up,” she wrote.

Clinton argued that if the committee intended to fully examine the matter, it should seek testimony directly from the president.
“If this committee is serious about learning the truth about Epstein's crimes, it would not rely on press gaggles to get answers from our current president on his involvement. It would ask him directly under oath about the tens of thousands of times he shows up in the Epstein files.”
She added, “If the majority was serious, it would not waste time on fishing expeditions. There is too much that needs to be done.”
