WASHINGTON, DC: President Donald Trump shared the first publicly released photograph of Vice President JD Vance and Second Lady Usha Vance's newborn son, Alec Neel Vance, congratulating the family on the latest addition.

Posting on his social media platform, Trump wrote, "Congratulations! A perfect baby boy for the wonderful Vance family," alongside the image of the infant. The post marked his first public message after the Vances announced the birth.

JD and Usha Vance revealed on Sunday, July 19, that they had welcomed baby Alec Neel earlier that morning. In a statement shared on social media, the couple said both mother and child were doing well and that their three older children were excited to meet their new sibling.

The vice president and second lady also thanked the medical teams at Walter Reed National Military Medical Center and the White House Medical Unit for their care throughout the pregnancy.

Alec joins siblings Ewan, Vivek, and Mirabel, making the Vances a family of six. The birth is also historically notable, as Usha Vance is the first sitting second lady in more than 150 years to give birth while her husband serves as vice president.

Trump's post draws attention online

Trump's congratulatory post quickly gained traction online, with supporters sharing the first image of baby Alec and sending well wishes to the Vance family.

JD Vance has frequently spoken about the importance of supporting American families and encouraging higher birth rates.

The couple first announced Usha Vance's pregnancy earlier this year, and the birth of their fourth child marks another milestone for the vice president's family during his time in office.
