WASHINGTON, DC: President Donald Trump lost his temper during a tense Cabinet meeting on Tuesday, July 8, after a New York Post reporter raised a question about disgraced financier Jeffrey Epstein’s death, igniting a fiery exchange that the president slammed as “a desecration”.

Trump fumed at the line of questioning while the country was dealing with the Texas floods that killed more than 111 people over the July 4th weekend.

This confrontation came just one day after the FBI and Department of Justice issued a joint memo affirming their conclusion that Epstein died by suicide in his Manhattan jail cell in 2019, and stating definitively that no “client list” was found in their years-long probe.

The memo noted that, “As DOJ’s Inspector General explained in 2023, anyone entering or attempting to enter the tier where Epstein’s cell was located from the SHU common area would have been captured by this footage.” Investigators reviewed the footage and found no evidence that anyone entered the area during the relevant time frame.

Journalist Steve Nelson pressed Attorney General Pam Bondi on unresolved inconsistencies, including a missing minute from surveillance footage and speculation over Epstein’s rumored ties to intelligence services.

Nelson had asked for clarity about a missing minute in a recently released video surrounding Epstein’s death and the conspiracies surrounding the involvement of foul play. The reporter also asked if Epstein had worked for an American or foreign intelligence agency.

But before Bondi could respond, Trump cut in sharply.

“Are you seriously still talking about Jeffrey Epstein? This guy's been talked about for years,” Trump snapped. “Are people still talking about this guy, this creep? That is unbelievable. Do you want to waste the time?”

“I can’t believe you’re asking a question on Epstein at a time like this where we’re having some of the greatest success and also tragedy with what happened in Texas,” he continued. “It just seems like a desecration.”

Recently, tech mogul Elon Musk, who briefly served as Donald Trump's Efficiency tsar, reignited the controversy by alleging in a now-deleted social media post that Trump’s name appeared in sealed Epstein records.

“Time to drop the really big bomb @realDonaldTrump is in the Epstein files,” Musk wrote, suggesting the documents remain sealed to protect the president. “That is the real reason they have not been made public. Have a nice day, DJT!”

Just moments later, Musk followed up with another harsh message, “Mark this post for the future. The truth will come out.”

MAGA-aligned influencers have also voiced frustration with Bondi and DOJ officials, criticizing what they perceive as a whitewash of Epstein’s alleged network.

Trump’s past ties to Epstein, a connection that’s lingered since his first term, have resurfaced amid renewed scrutiny.

Back in 2019, Trump said they’d had a “falling out” in the mid-2000s and referred to Epstein as a “Palm Beach fixture.”

The relationship drew fresh attention when Musk reignited the controversy during their heated clash over Trump’s 'Big, Beautiful Bill', suggesting Trump’s Epstein link deserved another look.
