WASHINGTON, DC: Donald Trump’s reaction to Kamala Harris’ concession call has stunned political insiders and even members of her own team.

According to journalist Chris Whipple’s upcoming book 'Uncharted: How Trump Beat Biden, Harris, and the Odds in the Wildest Campaign in History', the former vice president called the POTUS from the Naval Observatory to formally concede.

Donald Trump’s unexpected words to Kamala Harris after 2024 concession call

“I’m calling to concede. It was a fair election,” Kamala Harris told Donald Trump after he won the 2024 presidential election, according to political journalist Chris Whipple. “The peaceful transfer of power is important. It’s important to the country.”

Then, with a measured but unmistakable jab, she added, “I hope you’re president for all Americans.”

Instead of taking a defensive stance, Trump reportedly responded with surprising warmth. “You’re a tough cookie. You were really great,” he said, according to the New York Post.

He even threw in a light-hearted nod to Harris’ husband Doug Emhoff, adding, “And that Doug—what a character! I love that guy.”

The moment caught many in Harris’ inner circle off guard. One aide described Trump’s tone as “odd and inappropriate.”

“I was like, what?” the aide recalled. “Honestly, I felt like, what is this? It’s so manipulative. He’s a sociopath.”

The call itself almost didn’t happen. Technical issues made a mess of the logistics, forcing Harris and her team to literally press two phones together to make the connection work. She was sitting at home in the Naval Observatory with her campaign chief and White House chief of staff, trying to hold it all together.

When Trump’s voice finally came through, Harris reportedly felt “the weight of the crushing defeat” settle in.

Since then, Harris has reemerged in the public eye, though she’s been selective about her appearances. At the Leading Women Defined summit in California, she gave a short but spirited speech, hinting that her story isn’t over just yet.

Donald Trump’s unexpectedly calm and courteous reaction to Kamala Harris’ concession call has sent ripples across social media, igniting a storm of speculation, praise, and partisan debate.

Many users took to the comments section of the New York Post article to express their surprise at the POTUS' tone, which some called “un-Trumpian.”

One user wrote, “I hope you’re president for all Americans. Clearly Harris and the Biden Administration didn't represent all Americans.”

“The left always complains about Trump’s ‘divisive rhetoric.’ So when he actually says something nice about the left, they still complain. This is why y’all lost the election,” a commenter claimed.

“Trump will never be right in any scenario, according to the Democrats. He was cordial and calm. Good for him,” one person said. Another simply added, “It’s called being a gracious winner.”

“Even when Trump is polite on the phone, the Harris team still needs to act like it’s a problem,” one individual remarked.

Another added, “She felt the crushing weight of the loss when Trump’s voice came through the phone. Oh how sweet it is to know that.”
