WASHINGTON, DC: President Donald Trump on Wednesday, October 8, told conservative journalist Nick Sortor to give Attorney General Pam Bondi info on the person who burned the American flag in Portland.

Sortor was speaking during Trump's Antifa roundtable in the State Dining Room at the White House after he was accused of getting into a fight outside an Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) facility last week.

Nick Sortor showed President Trump the burned American flag he'd taken away before his arrest in Portland.

During the roundtable, Sortor was speaking about what he saw on the ground during the anti-ICE protests in Portland when he suddenly took out a charred American flag.

"I took this flag from that man who was burning it in the street," Sortor told Trump.

The president asked him, "Do you know who he is?" and the journalist said he did.

Trump then responded, "Why don't you give it to Pam? Give it to the attorney general and lets start prosecutions."

Sortor further claimed that he had taken a second American flag that the culprit had also attempted to burn.

Trump told Sortor, "At least that horrible night made you famous."

The president's statement made Sortor laugh, and then he bragged about having gotten a text message from Trump in response.

Sortor shared a video on X last week that showed the conservative journalist wearing a grey hoodie and snatching a lit American flag from an anti-ICE rioter.

The clip showed him trying to extinguish the fire by putting the flag on the ground and stamping it. The video ended with him taking the flag away from the rioters.

Sharing the clip on X, Sortor wrote, "BREAKING: Following my recovery of the American flag being burned in Portland yesterday, President Trump just announced that from this point forward anybody burning the flag will be subject to ONE YEAR in prison."

He added, "You will be IMMEDIATELY arrested. Thank you for your attention to this matter!"

Oregon county DA drops charges against Nick Sortor after Portland arrest

Oregon officials have declined to pursue charges against Nick Sortor on Monday after his arrest in Portland on October 2.

The conservative activist was captured on video being taken into custody and was initially charged with second-degree disorderly conduct.

However, he was later released, but his arrest quickly went viral after he claimed that he was detained following a confrontation with two Antifa-affiliated individuals.

Meanwhile, the Multnomah County District Attorney’s Office has since reversed course, and issued a statement dropping charges against Sortor due to insufficient evidence.

The press release mentioned, "After a careful review of the investigation, including reports and video, we do not believe the crime of Disorderly Conduct can be proven against Mr. Sortor beyond a reasonable doubt. The two other individuals arrested for Disorderly Conduct October 2nd have been charged."

"We greatly appreciate the efforts of the Portland Police Bureau to manage the situation near the ICE building during this time of political unrest. The Multnomah County District Attorney’s office remains committed to a fair and impartial administration of justice," the statement read.
