Trump's fresh hand bruise at Camp David Cabinet meeting reignites health concerns

The new bruise renewed questions about the White House's claim that frequent handshakes and Trump's daily aspirin use caused the discoloration

WASHINGTON, DC: Fresh photos of President Donald Trump taken during a Cabinet meeting at Camp David on Friday, July 31, have once again sparked debate about his health after a new bruise was seen on his hand.

The latest images quickly spread across social media, reviving questions that have surfaced several times this year about the recurring discoloration visible on the president's hands.

The discussion comes despite the White House previously addressing similar concerns, saying the bruising is linked to frequent handshaking and Trump's daily aspirin routine rather than a more serious medical issue.

Donald Trump's latest appearance puts focus back on recurring hand bruise

The renewed speculation began after photographs from Friday's Cabinet meeting at the presidential retreat in Catoctin Mountain Park showed what appeared to be a fresh bruise on Trump's left hand and lower arm while he gestured during the meeting.

Independent journalist Aaron Rupar also weighed in after seeing the images, writing on X, "Trump's left hand (not the right one that is usually mangled) is discolored."

The new photos come only days after social media users pointed out similar discoloration during coverage of former South Carolina Senator Lindsey Graham's funeral.

Several online commenters claimed television cameras appeared to zoom in on Trump's hands, prompting another round of discussion about the visible bruising.

Observers noted that the marks appeared in a similar location to previous bruises seen on the backs of Trump's hands during other public appearances over the past year.

White House previously addressed concerns over Trump's health

The White House has already responded to repeated questions about the president's hands.

Officials previously dismissed concerns by explaining that the bruising was consistent with the physical demands of Trump's daily schedule.

In 2025, White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt said Trump had undergone a "comprehensive exam," including vascular testing, which found that he was living with a chronic vein condition.

Leavitt also explained that the appearance of his hands matched "tissue damage from frequent handshaking," adding that Trump's aspirin routine could also make bruising more noticeable.

She defended the president's demanding public schedule, saying, "President Trump is a man of the people, and he meets more Americans and shakes their hands on a daily basis than any other President in history. His commitment is unwavering, and he proves that every single day."

Fresh images fuel another round of online speculation

Even with that explanation already on record, Friday's photographs quickly reignited debate online.

The latest bruise prompted renewed discussion among critics and supporters alike, with many once again questioning whether the visible marks reflected something more serious.

The conversation has become a recurring topic whenever Trump appears in public with noticeable discoloration on his hands.

Each new image has generated fresh speculation across social media, often drawing comparisons with previous photographs showing similar bruising.

Since the White House issued its explanation, Trump has generally kept his hands below desk level during televised appearances or outside the direct focus of cameras.
