WASHINGTON, DC: As speculation over President Donald Trump's health continues to grow, a new wave of conspiracy theories is circulating online, now centered on a mysterious lump spotted on his right shoulder during a recent White House appearance while addressing death rumors.

Eagle-eyed social media users quickly flagged the unusual detail, fueling fresh concerns after Trump lashed out at the viral rumors.

The frenzy intensified after the president remained unusually quiet over the Labor Day weekend, amid ongoing discussions about bruising on his hand, swollen ankles, and possible cognitive issues.

Online speculation about Donald Trump's health has taken a new turn, with internet users now fixating on what appears to be a "strange" lump on his right shoulder. Viral images circulating on social media highlight a visible gap between the shoulder of his jacket and the protruding shape, prompting many to question what it could be.

While some insist the lump looks unnatural, others argue it's likely just Trump’s actual shoulder. They suggest the odd appearance stems from excessive padding inside his suit, which may be creating the illusion of an unusual gap between the lump and the jacket's shoulder seam.

These theories come after Trump returned to the public eye on Tuesday, September 2, to dismiss wild rumors that he had died, following his unexpected absence from the White House during most of Labor Day weekend.

"I’ve heard the rumors, it’s sort of crazy," Trump told reporters. "But last week I did numerous news conferences, all successful. They went very well, like this is going very well, and then I didn't do any for two days, and they said there must be something wrong with him."

He also took a jab at his predecessor, adding, "Biden wouldn't do them for months. You wouldn't see him, and nobody said anything."

Internet speculates about unusual lump on Trump's shoulder

Despite Donald Trump's efforts to downplay the speculation, online users continued to scrutinize his health.

One individual on X noticed, "Strange. Fabric doesn't normally fall like that across an arm."

While some suggested the protrusion was simply due to heavy suit padding. Another X user said, "People are suggesting this is a result of padded or extended shoulders. Neither of these things have to do with how a sleeve falls."

A person who thought Trump's suit was ill-fitting questioned, "Why does such a wealthy man not have well-tailored suits?"

"Look at his right upper arm. The unnature way the fabric falls giving away the flaccid muscle undermeath. I think Donny Trump has had a stroke, " one more speculated.

An individual claimed, "It's not shoulder pads. The right panel of his suit is so straight and rigid, while the left is loose and crepey—wrinkly. There is a device on his right that is causing that side to appear smooth, straight, and uncreased. What that object is, I do not know. A medical device, for the heart?"

"Trump saying he feels healthy only to accidentally reveal the spot on his arm has gotten worse," another tweet read.

Trump showed 'emotional vulnerability' while addressing death rumors

A body language expert told LADbible that the president appeared genuinely unsettled when addressing the rumors.

While Trump has been known in the past to use expressive hand gestures, particularly during his first term, the expert pointed out that in more recent appearances, especially during his second term, he has kept his hands more subdued, often placing them under the podium or in his lap. This change, she suggested, may be the result of someone advising him to tone down his gestures.

However, during his most recent public statement, the MAGA leader appeared more animated. Rather than hiding his hands, he was seen adjusting his tie and pointing toward reporters, behaviors that indicated a shift in posture and tone.

According to body language analyst Judi Honigman, Trump maintained a deliberate, “presidential” facial expression when addressing the death rumors.

She described his demeanor as “unsmiling, trying to appear serious,” with his head slightly tilted—a common sign of attentiveness. He also made direct eye contact with the reporter, which, Honigman explained, was likely an attempt to appear “sincere and unafraid” of the topic.

Yet despite this controlled appearance, Honigman noted one revealing moment, a small, nearly imperceptible reaction that suggested Trump’s discomfort.

“When he hears of the rumour, he breaks eye contact with the journalist momentarily, and glances sideways,” she explained. “It is quick, but it is there, a tiny protective gesture.”

This moment of eye aversion, she said, can indicate emotional vulnerability.

Honigman concluded, “This miniature reaction tells us all we need to know. Trump feels vulnerable in that moment. He doesn't find the death rumours funny at all, even if he makes light of them later on.
