WASHINGTON, DC: US Attorney Jeanine Pirro, along with FBI Director Kash Patel, issued an update on Thanksgiving morning about the two National Guard members who were shot close to the White House on Thursday, November 27.
Pirro revealed that the shooter, identified as Rahmanullah Lakanwal, a 29-year-old Afghan native, came to America under Biden’s 'Operation Allies Welcome'. She criticized the former president’s administration for not vetting immigrants thoroughly.

Jeanine Pirro told the press that the Department of Justice under Attorney General Pam Bondi was committed to a “thorough” and “impartial” investigation into the National Guard shooting. She also said that they would hold the shooter accountable under the “full weight of the law.”
Pirro revealed that Sarah Beckstrom and Andrew Wolfe had volunteered and were deployed to protect American citizens of the district after Donald Trump “rightfully” declared a crime emergency.
The US Attorney further stated that the capital must not be a place where “evil” comes to commit violence, regardless of their motive. She added that people should not have to “live in fear,” especially not from those who came to America from a foreign country.
“Through a process that was so absurd that he came through and released into this country, as many were, knowing virtually nothing about his vetting,” she said.
Jeanine Pirro states that the shooter will face full legal prosecution
Pirro noted that the guardsmen who were tasked with protecting the districts were what separated “a civilized society from a barbaric one.”
Pirro stated that the shooting was not a simple attack, but a “direct challenge to law and order.” She assured the public that the individual would be held “fully accountable” and said that under President Trump and the Attorney General, it would not be “normalized.”
“It will be confronted, condemned, and prosecuted to the full extent of the law,” she said.
Jeanine Pirro shared a message for the Afghan native during her speech. She said that he “picked the wrong target, the wrong city, and the wrong country.”
She told him that he would be sorry for the violence and “evil” he had spread in Washington, DC, before she passed the mic to Kash Patel, the director of the FBI.
Kash Patel shares update on National Guard investigation
Patel told the press that it was an ongoing investigation of “terrorism.”
He termed the attack a “federal assault” and detailed the aftermath of the crime. He stated that law enforcement agencies had secured the scene, seized the weapon and called in their evidence response team to collect evidence.
He added that they were looking to interview witnesses while the firearm and other “materials” had been sent to the Quantico laboratory on Wednesday.
