WASHINGTON, DC: The US and several Gulf nations have released a joint statement strongly condemning the missile and drone attacks launched by Iran, calling them “indiscriminate and reckless.”

The joint statement declares that they are standing united in defense of their “citizens, sovereignty, and territory, and reaffirm their right to self-defense in the face of these attacks.”

US, Gulf nations condemn Iran drone strikes

The government of the US on Sunday, March 1, released a joint statement noting that Bahrain, Jordan, Kuwait, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, and the United Arab Emirates have come together to address the recent wave of aerial strikes.

The group characterized the offensive as unprovoked and a clear violation of international norms regarding state sovereignty.

“The United States, Bahrain, Jordan, Kuwait, Qatar, the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates strongly condemn the Islamic Republic of Iran’s indiscriminate and reckless missile and drone attacks against sovereign territories across the region,” the statement read.

“These unjustified strikes targeted sovereign territory, endangered civilian populations and damaged civilian infrastructure.”

Joint statement warns of regional escalation

The nations made it clear that these attacks are not isolated incidents. Instead, they believe the actions pose a broader threat that endangers the safety of the entire region.

They specifically pointed out that the strikes have put innocent people at risk and disrupted the peace of countries not involved in active conflicts.

“The Islamic Republic’s actions represent a dangerous escalation that violates the sovereignty of multiple states and threatens regional stability,” it continued. “The targeting of civilians and of countries not engaged in hostilities is reckless and destabilizing behavior.”

US-Gulf allies vow joint self-defense response

In their closing remarks, the member states made it clear that they are prepared to protect their borders and their people through mutual cooperation.

They credited their integrated air defense systems with minimizing the damage from the recent attacks and reaffirmed their legal standing to respond to future threats.

“We stand united in defense of our citizens, sovereignty and territory, and reaffirm our right to self-defense in the face of these attacks,” the statement added.

“We remain committed to regional security and commend the effective air and missile defense cooperation that has prevented far greater loss of life and destruction.”

It is to be noted that these recent Iranian strikes followed a joint US-Israel operation that resulted in the death of Iran’s Supreme Leader, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, along with his family and other top regime officials, a move that President Trump has described as a critical step toward achieving peace in the Middle East.
