Netanyahu's son abruptly pulled out of Miami after Israeli security finds 'significant threat'
TEL AVIV, ISRAEL: Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s son, Yair Netanyahu, was abruptly brought back from Miami after Israel’s security agency determined he faced a “significant threat,” the agency confirmed on Saturday, August 29.
The security service said the decision followed an assessment of the danger to him and was serious enough to trigger an urgent extraction from Florida.
Officials have not publicly identified the suspected source or provided further details about the threat.

Security team moves Yair Netanyahu to Israel
The Shin Bet confirmed the operation to Israel’s Channel 12, saying officials had identified a threat involving a possible attempt to harm Yair Netanyahu.
Following a security assessment, the agency said it decided, in coordination with Yair’s protection team, to remove him from Miami and return him to Israel.
The move comes amid reports of an alleged Iranian effort to target Yair while he was living in South Florida.
A US law enforcement source cited by Newsmax on August 25 said Israeli intelligence had learned about the alleged operation in December 2025 and alerted US authorities.
According to the report, Iranian operatives were suspected of operating in the Miami area and allegedly monitoring Yair’s home and movements.
It is not clear whether the operation described in that report is connected to the threat cited by the Shin Bet in confirming Yair’s return.
Benjamin Netanyahu separately suggested that Iran had targeted one of his sons.
Speaking to Israel’s Channel 14, the Israeli Prime Minister said Iran had attempted to kill the son.
The operation also reportedly involved shifting Israeli security personnel from other assignments.
Channel 12 reported that Shin Bet officers assigned to protect Israeli President Isaac Herzog during his visit to New York were sent to Florida to help with Yair’s evacuation.
Barron Trump threat raises concern
The latest development follows another reported threat involving the family of President Donald Trump.
On August 24, Iranian hardliners circulated a video that appeared to target Trump’s youngest son, Barron Trump.
The video, titled 'Where to kill Barron Trump' reportedly offered a $10 million bounty.
The US Secret Service said it was aware of the material after it aired on Iranian state television and was assessing reports of a possible plot against Barron.
Iranian Security Chief Mohsen Rezaei later denied that Iran was planning to assassinate Barron, calling the reports false in an interview with Lebanon’s Al Manar TV.
