UTSA's ‘Pamper Baby’ forced to apologize after reciting poem mocking Charlie Kirk’s killing
SAN ANTONIO, TEXAS: A University of Texas at San Antonio student who mocked Charlie Kirk’s killing in a poem on September 23, Charlie's first death anniversary last month, has publicly apologized after a wave of outrage.
The student, who called herself 'Pamper Baby' read the verse to a conservative activist Christian Collins at a campus event. A video of the exchange subsequently spread rapidly online.
The student was later identified as Isa Casahuga, reportedly a naturalized American.
Her apology came as the University of Texas System warned it would not tolerate threats or incitement of violence.
At @UTSA for Pick Up the Mic, a student read a poem celebrating the assassination of Charlie Kirk with such glee, then told me I was brave to be out here without my neck covered. I told her I’d pray for her. This is the climate. We pick up the mic anyway. https://t.co/ZfipQsosaF

UTSA student apologizes for 'insensitivity'
The incident unfolded during Turning Point USA’s 'Pick Up the Mic' event at UTSA, where students were invited to engage in debates on contentious subjects.
Collins had come to the campus to discuss topics including faith and feminism when the student approached him with a poem.
Performed as a parody of 'The Night Before Christmas', the verse centered on the anniversary of Charlie Kirk’s killing and included a reference to 'a shot to the neck.'
''The flags were hung proudly, the memes all on deck as we solemnly remembered a shot to the neck'', she had read.
Once she finished, she turned to Collins and remarked that he was “brave” to appear at the university without a neck brace.

Collins later shared footage of the exchange on X, where it gained widespread attention.
He said he was not frightened and did not show the intention to pursue criminal charges.
Isa, on Saturday, October 31, subsequently put out an apology addressed to Erika Kirk, her children and the Kirk family.
In a video now going viral on social media, she described her comments as deeply insensitive in light of their loss and separately acknowledged that her words to Collins had been inappropriate and hurtful.
She also said political violence and the loss of human life could never be treated as acceptable or amusing, adding that her faith taught her otherwise.
While asking for an opportunity to earn a second chance, she faced criticism from some online users who questioned whether the apology was genuine.
From UT System Board of Regents Chairman Kevin Eltife and UT System Chancellor John Zerwas: “We have been apprised of the incident at UT San Antonio. Let us be clear — we will not tolerate the incitement of violence or the threat of incitement of violence by any member of our UT community. UT San Antonio will handle this incident consistent with the law.”

Apology after University's threat
Charlie Kirk, the Turning Point USA co-founder, was shot and killed on September 10, 2025, while speaking at Utah Valley University.
The original video had quickly drawn an official response.
UT System Board of Regents Chairman Kevin Eltife and Chancellor John Zerwas said in a joint statement that the system “will not tolerate the incitement of violence or the threat of incitement of violence” by any member of the UT community and that UTSA would handle the matter “consistent with the law.”
UTSA itself said the student’s comments do not reflect the university’s values and that it is reviewing the circumstances. It did not publicly identify her.
Whether Casahuga's apology will satisfy the university, the Kirk family or the critics who want her expelled remains to be seen.
