JUPITER, FLORIDA: Vanessa Trump has announced that she is cancer-free after being diagnosed with breast cancer in April. The 48-year-old shared the hopeful update in an Instagram video with her daughter, Kai Trump, on Friday, October 23, as Breast Cancer Awareness Month continues.

Vanessa, the ex-wife of Donald Trump Jr, confirmed that her latest tests came back clear, bringing a positive turn in a health journey she first made public in May. The video also featured Dr Nicole Saphier and focused on Vanessa’s diagnosis, treatment, and the importance of breast cancer awareness.

Vanessa Trump confirms she is 'finally cancer-free'

In the video shared on Instagram, Kai introduced her mother’s story by explaining when Vanessa was diagnosed and why they wanted to speak about the experience.

“My mom was diagnosed with breast cancer in April,” Kai said. “So we thought we would share her story and how she was diagnosed and how she overcame it.”

The video briefly featured Dr Saphier discussing breast cancer before returning to Vanessa, who shared the news about her latest test results.

“[Tests] came back clear so I am finally cancer-free,” Vanessa said.

The mother and daughter then shared a hug, marking an emotional moment in the video.

Vanessa had announced her diagnosis publicly in May, revealing that she had undergone a procedure and was working with her medical team to decide on treatment.

“I want to share a personal health update. I've recently been diagnosed with breast cancer. While this isn't news anyone expects, I'm working closely with my medical team on a treatment plan,” she wrote at the time.

The 48-year-old also thanked the doctors caring for her and spoke about the support she had received from her loved ones.

“I am staying focused and hopeful while surrounded by the love and support of my family, my kids and those closest to me. Thank you for your kindness and support, it truly means more than I can express,” Vanessa added.

Kai Trump opens up about spending time with her mother during treatment

Kai has also spoken about how her mother's diagnosis affected their time together. In August, she reflected on the extra hours they spent together over the summer while Vanessa attended treatments.

Speaking to Fox News from the University of Miami, Kai said the experience gave them more opportunities to spend time together before she left for college.

“I was very lucky to spend a lot of time with her over the summer, because of cancer and going to treatments with her,” she said.

Kai described the additional time with her mother as a “blessing in disguise,” explaining that she would otherwise have spent more of those hours playing golf.

“It was nice to spend those extra hours with her throughout the day before going to college,” she added.

Vanessa later shared another update in June, saying she was recovering from surgery and preparing to begin the next stage of treatment.

Kai Trump highlights need to raise awareness about breast cancer

The latest video was shared to mark October as Breast Cancer Awareness Month, with Kai using the post to encourage conversations about early detection, education and support for people affected by the disease.

In the caption accompanying the video, the 19-year-old explained that she had sat down with her mother and Dr Saphier to discuss Vanessa’s experience and learn more about prevention and early detection.

“October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month, a time to raise awareness about early detection, education, and support for those affected by breast cancer,” Kai wrote. “I sat down with my mom and Dr. Nicole Saphier to talk about my mom's journey with breast cancer and learn more about prevention and early detection.”

Kai also announced that a longer conversation would be uploaded to her YouTube channel on Saturday.
