FBI Confirms Michigan Synagogue Attacker Died from Self-Inflicted Gunshot Wound

The Federal Bureau of Investigation said it has forensically identified the suspect behind the attack at a synagogue in Michigan as **Muhammad Gazali**, a 41-year-old man from Dearborn Heights. Authorities said the incident began around 9:58 a.m. when Gazali drove a gray Ford F-150 into the parking lot of Temple Israel. According to investigators, at approximately 12:19 p.m. the suspect drove his vehicle into an entrance on the southeast side of the building, striking a security guard as he forced his way inside. A second security officer then engaged the suspect in a gunfight near the front of the vehicle around 12:22 p.m. During the exchange of gunfire, the truck’s engine compartment caught fire. Authorities said Gazali ultimately died from a self-inflicted gunshot wound to the head. The FBI said the investigation remains in its early stages and officials are still working to determine the motive, describing the incident for now as a targeted act of violence.
