Man Sh*t in Eye With 'Less Lethal' Round as LA Protest Turns Violent
A man was sh*t in the eye by a so-called “less lethal” round after anti-ICE protesters and police clashed in Los Angeles on Saturday, January 31, according to eyewitnesses. Footage captured by Bianca Stopani shows the man sitting on the ground with what appears to be green paint over his eye and cheek, where the round struck him, while being tended to by other people. The current condition of the man is unknown. The Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD) Central Division issued a dispersal order and declared the gathering an unlawful assembly, after a face off with demonstrators turned violent in downtown LA, in continuation of Friday’s “ICE Out” rally. According to local news reports, hundreds gathered outside the LA City Hall, and federal agents deployed tear gas after protesters began throwing fireworks, rocks, and bottles at them.
