Men Disguised as Construction Workers Get Intercepted at US-Mexico Border

Two men disguised as construction workers were intercepted at the US-Mexico border in El Paso, Texas, on Friday, January 9, according to US Customs and Border Protection (CBP). Newly released footage from US Border Patrol Chief Michael W Banks shows the two individuals dressed in construction vests being guided by what he said were smugglers. “Disguises won’t fool us,” Banks wrote in an X post. CBP said the men were from Mexico and Ecuador and were attempting to blend in with construction workers on the site of one of the several ongoing border infrastructure projects. The two men were “apprehended shortly after their illegal entry,” they said. “These construction zones will continue to be heavily monitored by our Border Patrol agents and unlawful entry will not be tolerated,” El Paso Sector Chief Patrol Agent Jesse D Munoz said in a statement. “Individuals attempting to enter the United States unlawfully in construction zones or anywhere in the El Paso Sector are subject to immediate detection, prosecution, and removal.”
