Minnesota Leaders Sue DHS, Call Federal Agent Surge “Unlawful and Unconstitutional”
Minnesota Attorney General Keith Ellison, joined by Minneapolis Mayor Jacob Frey, announced a lawsuit against the U.S. Department of Homeland Security, asking federal courts to end a large-scale deployment of DHS and ICE agents across Minnesota. Ellison described the operation as an “unlawful” and “unprecedented” surge, alleging intimidation and aggressive tactics in schools, places of worship, hospitals, and public spaces. Frey said the actions go beyond normal immigration enforcement and argued Minnesota is being targeted for political reasons. Federal officials have said the deployment is part of lawful enforcement operations. The dispute now moves to the courts.
