‘$300 a Barrel’: Trump Recalls Warning of Fuel Spike and Economic Fallout
Donald Trump is pushing back on what he described as a wave of fear-driven warnings over fuel prices and the economy.
Recalling the moment, Trump said he was told that if he moved forward, fuel would skyrocket to $300 a barrel, the situation would become “wild,” and even a depression could follow.
But Trump said he did not believe it.
“I don’t think so. I think we’re going to be good. We always find a way,” he said, before pointing to a brand-new all-time market high and fuel prices that he said were sitting around 89 or even lower in many places.
