LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Robert F Kennedy Jr, the former Independent presidential candidate, recently revealed in an interview with Tucker Carlson that it was his wife, actress Cheryl Hines, who persuaded him to meet with Donald Trump.

Initially, RFK Jr had reservations about the idea, considering it a "nonstarter," particularly because of his wife's possible reaction, as reported by The Wrap.

However, to his surprise, Hines encouraged him to listen to what Trump had to say, leading to an in-person meeting with the former president and his senior advisor, Susie Wiles.

Robert F Kennedy Jr shares Cheryl Hines' major role behind meeting with Donald Trump

Robert F Kennedy Jr, known for his controversial views, including his stance on vaccines, shares an interesting dynamic with his wife, Cheryl Hines, who is best known for her role in the hit TV show 'Curb Your Enthusiasm'.

Despite her public pushback against some of RFK Jr's more polarizing statements, such as his comparison of Covid-19 safety measures to living in Nazi Germany, the actress has shown her support in unexpected ways, as seen in this instance.

During the interview with Carlson, the anti-vaccine activist recounted how the meeting with Trump came about. He mentioned that he received a call about the potential meeting just hours after the assassination attempt.

The third-party candidate was informed that there was interest in the Trump campaign in including him, and the conversation even touched on the possibility of him being considered for the vice presidential slot.

However, RFK Jr expressed that he wasn't interested in the position, a sentiment that was made clear when Trump named JD Vance as his running mate just two days later, ahead of the Republican National Convention.

On the idea of meeting with Trump, RFK Jr's first instinct was to refuse the offer. He recounted telling the campaign representative, "I don’t think so."

The thought of his wife’s reaction played a significant role in his hesitation. "And part of this was, I just thought it was a nonstarter with Cheryl," explained the 70-year-old to Carlson.

However, when he called Hines to discuss the matter, her response was unexpected. She urged him to at least hear Trump out, a suggestion that caught RFK Jr off guard.

Soon after, he contacted Trump's campaign representative to express his interest. Carlson, who RFK Jr apparently has on speed dial, facilitated further communication by linking him directly to Trump.

"I’m interested," texted the former Democrat to the campaign rep, and soon enough, he received a message from Carlson with an unknown number linked to Trump. The journalist had informed him, "You know, he’s waiting for your call."

RFK Jr wasted no time and reached out to the GOP nominee that very night. The conversation between the two was described by him as "great."

The next day, he, Hines, Trump, and their respective campaign managers met in person.
