WASHINGTON, DC: Republican presidential candidate Nikki Haley on Sunday, February 18, said she would pardon Donald Trump if elected President and believes that "it would be the time to move forward and get it out of the way."

Fox News's town hall for Haley included questions from the audience where one person asked Haley if she is elected as the president, would she pardon Donald Trump if he was convicted of a crime in the federal court.

Answering the question, Haley said, "If you are talking about pardoning Trump, it's not a matter of innocence or guilt. That means he would have already been found guilty. I believe in the best interest of bringing the country together, I would pardon Donald Trump."

She added, "I think it's important for the country to move on. We got to leave the negativity and baggage behind. I don't want this country divided any further. I don't think it's in the best interest of America to have an 80-year-old president sitting in jail and having everybody upset about it. I think this would be the time to move forward and get this out of the way."

Moreover, when another person from the audience asked her how she would confront foreign adversaries and mentioned Trump's attitude toward Putin, Haley had her say on this.

"He was completely wrong because every time he was in the same room with him [Putin], he got weak in the knees. We can’t have a president that gets weak in the knees with Putin. We have to have a president that’s going to be strong with Putin in every sense of the word," Haley answered.

Despite her powerful statement, many people on the internet ended up trolling the Republican presidential candidate. A user posted on X saying, "Loser but already known waste of a candidate" whereas one added, "This is how you know she’ll endorse him. The guy who disparaged her husband’s military service. It’s coming and we will be ready with all the receipts when it does."

A person said, "Pardoning Trump would not heal the divide..it would only prove the rich and powerful are above the law" while one mentioned, "Funny because we all know he would lock her up and never think of a pardon lmao. Clown circus continues."

Another user commented, "That makes Haley unfit to serve" and one trolled her saying, "Well way to crumple like a sack after all that tough talk."
