DENVER, COLORADO: Lydia Plath has revealed that she suffered a miscarriage while expecting her first child with husband Zac Wyse, sharing her grief and remembering their baby in an emotional Instagram post on Wednesday, October 14.
Plath also referenced her late brother Joshua, who died in 2008 following a farming accident, at just 17 months old.

“There’s no words for the pain as we grieve the loss of our little angel,” Plath wrote on Instagram. “Our first child, our greatest love, and a true miracle. We’re so grateful for the short time we had with our baby bean.”
Her post featured a black-and-white photograph of an ultrasound placed beside a bouquet of roses and a pair of baby socks. Plath continued to express how much the couple had looked forward to welcoming their child, writing, “You were so loved and celebrated every day we had with you!”
She added that the baby had brought happiness to their lives and had already become a source of excitement for their loved ones. “You were the talk and the joy of our lives with family, honorary aunts and uncles and friends. All so excited to love you and meet you but now you’re gone too soon,” she wrote.
Plath concluded her message by referencing her brother Joshua, who died at 17 months old in 2008 following a farming accident. “Give my brother a hug for me. Can’t wait to meet you in heaven. Love, mom and dad,” she wrote.
Before announcing the miscarriage, Plath had not publicly disclosed that she and Wyse were expecting their first child. The couple got married in February 2025, two months after their engagement, and later discussed their decision to save their first kiss for their wedding day.

In August 2025, Plath addressed the couple’s decision to wait until their wedding day for their first kiss, explaining that people had misunderstood their choice. “Yes! We saved our FIRST KISS for our wedding day! It’s really saddening to see how that is taken such the wrong way in this day and age,” she wrote on Instagram.
She added that, rather than recognizing her husband’s intentions, people assumed they were not attracted to each other. “QUITE THE OPPOSITE!” she continued.
Plath explained that saving their first kiss had been something she secretly desired, but she wanted Wyse to bring up the idea himself. “It had secretly been something I had desired, but I wanted the man to bring it up by the Holy Spirits leading and not me putting rules on by my own strength,” she wrote.
According to Plath, Wyse suggested it within one week of their dating, saying the idea had never crossed his mind until he met her. She described the wait as worthwhile, adding, “And now that we’re married, trust me, we’re making up for lost time!” She also praised the way her husband loved her.
The couple later released a 10-minute wedding video on YouTube to mark their milestone anniversary. The video featured their outdoor ceremony and reception, alongside audio from their vows and speeches by loved ones. Their pastor, who officiated the wedding, spoke about love as a daily decision and the importance of sacrifice in marriage.
