WASHINGTON, DC: Social media erupted in anger after former First Lady Melania Trump launched a collection of Mother's Day necklaces priced at a hefty $245.

Critics didn't hold back, labeling Melania as a 'grifter' for the high-priced jewelry.

Meanwhile, in another move, Melania reentered the political spotlight by hosting the inaugural event for the 2024 presidential election cycle at Mar-a-Lago on April 20.

The fundraiser was held for the Log Cabin Republicans, a conservative group supporting LGBTQ inclusion.

Melania Trump unveils $245 necklaces for Mother's Day

According to the Daily Beast, Melania launched a $245 customizable Mother's Day necklace just three weeks before the holiday, coinciding with the Trump family's ongoing legal battles, including Donald's trial.

The necklace, dubbed 'Her Love & Gratitude', became available for purchase on the former first lady's website on Sunday. It features a gold flower pendant with three petals and offers the option to engrave names, initials, or important dates, as per the Daily Beast report.

Melania expressed her sentiments in a statement reported by The Hill, saying, “Being a mother is one of the most important roles in life. For this Mother’s Day, I have designed the ‘Her Love & Gratitude’ necklace to express immense gratitude and honor all mothers."

Additionally, purchasers of the necklace can receive a limited-edition digital collectible minted with the Solana blockchain, according to her office as cited by The Hill.

The Daily Beast reported that Melania introduced her jewelry line just before opening statements in Donald's significant criminal trial. The trial revolves around allegedly altered business records linked to payments made to adult film star Stormy Daniels to keep silent.

The New York Times recently disclosed Melania's private criticism of the trial, calling it a disgrace that might affect Trump's chances for reelection.
