'No surprise': Internet sides with Ron DeSantis as he slams Nikki Haley for refusing to endorse Trump
LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Florida Governor Ron DeSantis didn't hold back as he criticized his former Republican presidential rival, Nikki Haley, for her refusal to endorse former President Donald Trump, despite her earlier commitment.
Speaking on Newsmax's 'The Balance', DeSantis expressed that Haley's campaign demise was expected, citing her strategy of seeking votes predominantly from non-Republicans as flawed.
DeSantis critiques Haley's strategy and upholds commitments
According to Mediaite, DeSantis said, "She waged a campaign on the idea that you can somehow win the Republican nomination by getting the votes of mostly just non-Republicans, and that just doesn't work."
He further emphasized the impracticality of this approach, particularly evident in Haley's Super Tuesday defeat.
Commenting on Haley's reluctance to endorse Trump, despite promising earlier during the Republican presidential debates that she would if it came down to a Trump vs Biden contest, DeSantis reaffirmed his commitment to the pledge he signed.
He underlined the importance of honoring such commitments, stating, "If I say I'm gonna do something, I'm gonna do it."

Haley's reluctance sparks criticism
Haley, who had previously pledged support for the eventual Republican nominee and raised her hand during a debate, indicating her commitment even if Trump faced legal troubles, has now backtracked.
In recent months, she has refrained from expressing unequivocal support for Trump against President Joe Biden in the 2024 election.
DeSantis, in contrast, promptly endorsed Trump after exiting the presidential race.
He criticized Haley's changing stance, stating, "The idea that somehow circumstances have changed, I think we all knew what we were doing when we did that, and you gotta make a judgement about whether that's meaningful to you."
Haley, however, downplayed the significance of the Republican National Committee (RNC) pledge in a recent interview with NBC News, attributing it to a necessary step to secure a spot on the debate stage.
She maintained ambiguity about her future decisions, stating, "I think I'll make what decision I make."
Internet reacts strongly to Nikki Haley's stance

Another added, "What a surprise, you can't trust Nikki Haley."
One replied, "First, she said she wouldn't run against Trump. Then she did. Then she signed and stated she would endorse the winner. Then she didn't. So what else is she lying about?? No, thank you!!!"
