WASHINGTON, DC: Donald Trump recently took to Truth Social to note he has been in search of new legal representation and was "interviewing various law firms" to handle his upcoming appeal to the $83.3 million E Jean Carroll defamation lawsuit.

On January 26, a jury ordered the former president to pay $83.3 million to Carroll, a former columnist, in the high-profile case where Trump was represented by Alina Habba.

Soon after the verdict was delivered, the 2024 presidential hopeful declared that he was planning to appeal it and posted about seeking new legal representation on his Truth Social account, leading netizens to speculate about the fate of Habba’s employment.

While the majority thought that Habba's future with Trump was in jeopardy, a few netizens showed support for the Bedminster-based lawyer, and she reportedly reacted to a few such posts in an attempt to dispel the firing rumor, as per Meidas Touch.

Habba further liked posts by two users named @deb13743807 and @RogerJStoneJr, who wrote, "He does but the haters want to say he fired Habbas," and "Alina Habba is not an appeals lawyer. She did an excellent job under difficult circumstances," respectively.

The lawyer also liked a post by @MrSausageGet, who explained, "The Alina Habba stuff is garbage. Appellate counsel, specializing in appeals, are almost always NOT the same as defense counsel. Maybe from the same firm, but not the same attorney. There was no lawyer on Earth that could have won that case for Trump."

One said quipped, "Yikes. Who’s gonna tell her?" Another remarked, "Bless her heart. She really should not have decided to only fake smart."

A person joked, "If I were gonna be a Trump lawyer I'd need a Bobby Bonilla style contract," recalling the baseball player's controversial MLB contract.

"He never fires anybody face to face; he's too feeble. Either he gets somebody else to do it or he hires a replacement and expects you to 'get the hint'," expressed someone else.

One more noted, "Either way she's not getting paid," while an individual inquired, "Does that mean she’s still racking up legal fees that will never get paid?"

"Employed in the sense that there’s the small matter of that payment," jested a user, and another person added, "She's not really being fired.. she's just not being hired for any new...projects."
