MANHATTAN, NEW YORK: Donald Trump found himself the target of intense trolling when photos surfaced of him interacting with Manhattan firefighters and sharing pizzas with them amid his ongoing trial.

This isn't the first time Trump has made headlines for his surprising gestures. Previously, he delighted customers at a Chick-fil-A in Atlanta by purchasing a whopping 30 milkshakes and chicken sandwiches for everyone.

Trump also took the time to chat with the staff, commending them for their dedication and hard work.

Donald Trump brings pizzas for Manhattan firefighters

According to the New York Post, Trump got a warm reception on Thursday when he showed up at the Manhattan firehouse with pizzas in hand after his court appearance. He arrived at FDNY’s Engine Co. 8, Ladder Co. 2 in Midtown around 5.30 pm with two boxes of Xeno’s Pizza, having already sent over 10 boxes of different flavors.

According to the New York Post, one firefighter greeted Trump with encouragement, saying, "You gotta win!" Another appealed, “Sir, save us please."

During his brief visit, the Republican candidate engaged in conversations with the firefighters, posed for snapshots, and left behind signatures and well-wishes in a daybook and other items.

Trump's note in the daybook, as noted by the New York Post, read, "I love you all – special people."

A firefighter expressed appreciation, sharing with the New York Post, "It was good, we enjoyed it. It’s always special when a president shows up at your place of work. He’s a nice guy for coming by. He speaks to you not at you."

FDNY spokesperson Jim Long, as cited by the New York Post, confirmed Trump's previous visit to the firehouse in 2021, on September 11.

Long remarked on the routine nature of such visits, stating, "There might be some nervousness out there with Trump coming to the firehouse but we’ve had several presidents, many electeds, people running for office all come by and visit."

Before bidding farewell, the FDNY presented Trump with hats representing both the engine and ladder companies, featuring respective numbers '8' and '2', per the New York Post.

Before his pizza delivery stint, Trump was in a Manhattan courtroom, observing proceedings related to criminal charges against him. The court session, as reported by Fox News, also involved testimony, cross-examinations, and legal arguments regarding allegations of Trump's violation of a gag order imposed on him.

Internet users troll Donald Trump after pizza stint

A Facebook user wrote, "What lies he saying now 🤔"

Another user wrote, "So who bought the pizzas for this little publicly stint ? He sure as heck didn't."

A user commented, "Probably stuck a secret service agent with paying for it."

Another user commented, "Aww isn't that sweet , maybe he's feeling guilty about cutting their funding in 2019 , along with the police departments."

A user stated, "He gonna be former President for ever 😂."

Another user stated, "Only two for all them heads? That's just nasty. 🤣."
